I don’t know what pesticide they will be using in Calif for the brown moth, but you must understand that any pesticide on the market today has been registered and re-registered by the EPA, DEC etc. All potentially dangerous pesticides have been taken off the market.
diane, you said “All potentially dangerous pesticides have been taken off the market.” i’ve got some desert land in michigan to sell you. now even genetically modified plants make pesticides. the plant itself becomes toxic in various doses.
diane, have you heard of the herbicide “roundup?” monsanto has modified plants—soybeans and corn, at least—to be “roundup ready,” meaning that when huge doses of the herbicide get used the plant itself does not die off. but we eat the result of all that spraying. i’m not as well informed about pesticides, but i’m sure the government’s heart (now THERE’s an oxymoron) is not in public nor environmental safety.
Diane, My confidence in the government’s regulation of anything from lead in imports, to FAA airplane maintenance to bank regulation to food safety to consumer safety recalls or lack there of does not instill any reason for me to believe their claims that something that logically should be unsafe is now safe under their watch.
I’m with you, Ms. Conti. How many things that were approved by the FDA turn out to be dangerous or deadly? LOTS, that’s how many.
And Ms. Rye, your “get a grip” comment was totally out of line. This is a site for mature women to share their ideas and opinions. Mature women shouldn’t feel the need to insult one another or put each other down. There’s plenty of space on Wow O Wow for everyone’s thoughts. Have a nice day.
Again, Diane, once you’ve ended up in hospital from asthma attacks after one of their little “harmless,” “government approved” sprayings, you might get it. Right now, you’re about 50 years behind the rest of us on this stuff. Perhaps you might want to start with Rachael Carson’s Silent Spring and do try to keep up!
Diane. Are you joking? Is this comment satire? One word alone says a lot: Monsanto. This film, Monsanto, is for the purpose of education. Please get some!
