I’m going with a firm maybe. Part of me wants to watch. Not because I’m undecided; I’m definitely voting for Obama/Biden. I just want to see if this one will somehow transcend the lamosity that was the main content of the previous ones. I’d like to see more firm plans, real ideas and real issues, rather than the bickering about who’s more patriotic, or who’s got shady ties to whomever, et cetera. I’m tired of each side pointing fingers. I’m tired of the posturing about who’s most qualified. I’m just tired. As far as who’s most qualified? Neither of them are. Why? I liken it to giving birth, for the first time. You can read all the books, take all the classes, hear all the other mothers’ stories and have a good idea of what to expect…but you don’t really know what’s going to happen until your water breaks, you go into labour, and that baby comes kicking and screaming from your birth canal! Part of me just doesn’t wanna watch. Not because I don’t care…I do! I just don’t wanna be disappointed by more of the same ol’ same ol’. I don’t want my time to be wasted. Not that my time is so important, but it’s a series of minutes I’ll never be able to get back again. Taking that time to catch up on what I’ve recorded on my DVR might be a better idea. Perhaps I should flip a coin, to let The Fates decide. Three outta five, wins. Whether I watch or don’t watch makes no difference to what I’m ultimately going to do with my mail-in ballot. It would be nice to see McCain redeem himself a little bit. I like the guy. He seems like a nice person. A decent fellow. I won’t vote for him because there are certain, core issues that we vehemently disagree upon. It’d just be nice to see him go out of this thing with a little dignity and grace. He’s offered his life to serve this country in many ways, and ya gotta respect that, if nothing else. I also have mixed feelings about the actual election outcome. While I’ll be so happy that it’s all going to be over and done with on November 4th, I’m almost fearful of what election night is going to be like. I have a feeling that, no matter who wins, it’s going to get ugly. I had the same feeling when the cops who beat up Rodney King, were on trial. Most people thought there was no way they were ever going to be found anything but guilty, myself included. But, I had this nagging, underlying sense of dread just before the verdict was handed down…and look what happened. Rioting everywhere…with good reason, as far as I’m concerned. But…I digress…

Roberta — “lamosity”? [in your third paragraph] I can’t find a definition. Please explain?

EKA -
My guess is “lame” to the extreme

LOL I tend to make up words, at times. Perhaps I should enter some of them in the UrbanDictionary.com. I know it when I see it, but explaining it is difficult. Please bear with me while I attempt this. The root word is lame adj 1: pathetically lacking in force or effectiveness; “a feeble excuse”; ” a lame argument” [syn: feeble]. It’s the act of being lame to the point it snowballs into something bigger. Amplified lameness. A general atmosphere of offering lame ideas and/or solutions. Is this helping at all? Do you have a better understanding? I figure if Stephen Colbert can do it, well then so can I. We all can!

Okay, I don’t know if anyone else can see this, but I just posted a perfect example of lamosity. Are the rest of the comments on the page underlined?? My fault! I apparently didn’t close my html underline tag, and now everything under it is underlined…on my computer it shows this, anyway. There’s no way to edit this, after the fact, and am sorry! LOL What a maroon…

To Georgia ~ Nice work!! You totally figured out my name! Is it a genetic trait to be able to read backwards? Or is it a learned skill? My kids can do this easliy, as well. Really…nicely done. Someone once asked me if I were foreign born, from where, and if my name meant anything. They were disappointed that I was plain ol’ Renee from Seattle, Washington. To EKA ~ You hit the nail squarely on the head with yer definition of lamosity. Couldn’t have said it better, myself…and didn’t!

I’ll watch……………. If I didn’t watch then I couldn’t really know what everyone here would be talking about. I’m really curious if either one will come up with some actual facts……….I’m sick to death of the same ol same ol………….

Political Junkie here! I have to watch, I know I won’t hear anything new but, I like to see how they handle themselves.

I’ll be at work, so I can’t watch, but I’ll be listening on Public Radio.

No, New Adventures of Old Christine comes on tonight and I love Julia-Louis Dreyfuss more than either candidate. I’m tired of concrete solutions not being offered to the current problems. I need a good comic relief break:)

If less people report viewing… perhaps the “issues” discussed in the last few weeks might be of more importance.

Probably watch, switching back and forth. This election has me so disturbed that in a country as great as ours, this is all we could come up with. Sad. Will they say anything new? Will it be exciting enough to actually make me want to vote for one of them?
