If it could be back in time………I’d rather be on a camping trip at the Delta with family members. Water Ski-ing behind our boat. I loved to water Ski when I was younger…….had to give it up around age 48. As a Family, we all spent weekends at the Delta…….Most of my family members are gone now….Those are nice memories.

I like your photograph so much, JMK. Would you explain why you chose it?

Paula P, You and I agree on the desire to be reading. Also, given the wonderful list submitted by many women recently, I can easily imagine some of them would like to be reading, too, if they just thought a moment more!

… Sewing, quilting, attending an outdoor art show or a fine arts museum, tending roses, hiking … Instead, because I’m a single retired person, part time work and house/home maintenance take up my quality time. I remind myself often of Mary Oliver’s words, “Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?/Tell me, what is it you plan to do/with your one wild and precious life?” I love her poetry! Johanna

Here’s one of my favorite Oliver poems and perhaps fits in here nicely: LINGERING IN HAPPINESS After rain after days without rain, it stays cool, private and cleansed, under the trees and the dampness there, married now to gravity, falls branch to branch, leaf to leaf, down to the ground where it will disappear—but not, of course, vanish except to our eyes. The roots of the oaks will have their share, and the white threads of the grasses, and the cushions of moss; a few drops, round as pearls, will enter the mole’s tunnel; and soon so many small stones, buried for a thousand years, will feel themselves being touched.

And I, for one, wish to be nowhere except for where I am.

I would really like to be standing in line at my state’s lottery office waiting to collect a huge check for winning a multi-million dollar jackpot. But….I guess I must go on dreaming and wishing for that to come true while barbequing my ground turkey burgers.

Nothing beats a wonderful early morning gallop across the meadows and through the woods, on a beautiful Arabian horse. Or a ride down a country lane in the light of a big full moon. There is a freedom from worries and problems on those rides that is unexcelled by anything else in my life. A good horse is also a good friend. The beautiful silver/white mare who looks like a horse out of a dream who can carry me lightly over rough ground..or the big bay gelding who is a powerhouse and so beautiful and smooth as silk to ride. Nothing beats this sort of experience for me. Also love gardening and if I can’t be riding, then its off to the garden!!

Well, I stand corrected. After reading your post, C T, I would love to have that experience–––it must be thrilling. I rode a little years ago and know what it feels like. Do you know how lucky you are?

I’d rather be out in the garden early in the morning and smelling the fresh air. Or…I’d rather be in England right now; I love it this time of year.
