Long before Justin Timberlake became a Mouseketeer these 50 men — from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Bill Clinton to Tom Brokaw to name a few — were "bringing sexy back." And they’ve still got it — today maybe more than ever.

What makes the mature man so sexy?

"No sense of desperation," said wowOwow’s Liz Smith.

As for Candice Bergen: "Older men have just always been the sexiest to me. Far more than Leonardo or Brad. I saw Ben Bradley the other night and at 87 he is still one of the most attractive, intelligent, fascinating and sexy men alive."

According to Joan Juliet Buck: "We all know the glossy lure and sad reality of cute men. The dream is a mature man who knows what he likes, knows himself, has seen what life does, but still can laugh and has kept up his hope and is not bitter, who is curious, enterprising and strong."

Joan Ganz Cooney says: "Sexy at any age is a man who makes me laugh and seems a little dangerous." 

And according to Cynthia McFadden, there are two necessary ingredients: "Sexy is smart and funny."

I have never found ANY mere “politician” “sexy, but I’ve only seen Charles Dance in one film and I still dream about that chin. Etc. And that voice… be still, my heart. As for poor sick Bill and his addiction to women other than his wife… . we used to call those horny old men “whoremongers,” but in this day and age of excusing everything under the sun, I guess the sweet gentleman is merely ill and we have to make allowances for that.

I found a link to this site on Myspace. It said “Do you think Pierce Brosnan is sexy?” Um Hell yeah I do!! I think he’s the most handsome man ever!!! So naturally, I had to join and comment lol.

Sexy men over 50. Harrison Ford, Robert Redford, Sean Connery, Steven Tyler, Sidney Poitier, Morgan Freeman, Bruce Springsteen………….these I agreed with. Steven Tyler tops the list. . And why wasn’t Mel Gibson on the list????????? He is by far sexier than 40 of those on the list. If you look at men of all ages, which I know you are not, but, when you combine the words ‘sexy and man’ in the same sentence, I have a mental picture of Simon Baker immediately enter my head. He is all that and soooo much more.

Good Morning, What a wonderful article in L A Times this a.m. I am 67, laid off from job last October.  I did not know about your website till today.  Here in L A a woman who is  post pubescence can be a shadow person. I have raised 3 sons, participated in all the political and social changes for women, and needed a touchstone to remind me of my worth.  Here it is.
