wOw: Are you good at keeping secrets?

Blackford: I’ve kept all your secrets, wOw.

wOw: Aren’t you only a heartbeat away from Mrs. McCain?

Blackford: I would say yes when she does all of her interviews, when we travel on the road and when she’s approached by the press. But Mrs. McCain is an incredibly smart and capable woman and really can hold her own. I usually brief her first thing in the morning, depending upon what time our day starts, and I leave her the last thing at night when we get to whatever hotel we’re staying at.

wOw: What drew you to your job?

Blackford: I think with Mrs. McCain in particular, I’ve never seen someone so maligned. Having worked in the media for so many years as a senior broadcast producer both at "Good Morning America" and "The Early Show" on CBS, I knew who a lot of the players were. I thought I could help enlighten her to the mainstream media.  I really was drawn to her because she’s an incredible woman and so strong and yet she is so misrepresented in the media. It was shocking to me how misrepresented she was. I don’t want to go too much into the image of her, but I think everybody knows that she was very quiet and stood silently behind her husband but, that is not who she is at all.

She’s a very accomplished woman in her own right. And I think a lot of times the main stream media sees a Republican woman, or the wife of a Republican candidate and think, ‘Oh they must be brainless, witless and told to do whatever they’re told to do.’ But I think that has been disproved with Laura Bush and I think the same goes as well for Cindy McCain. These women have strong opinions and lives of their own.

wOw:Do you and Mrs. McCain ever discuss Mrs. Obama and what do you say?

Blackford:We don’t, actually. They’re both very different women at this point in their lives.  Mrs. McCain certainly understands where Mrs. Obama is in her life now. Mrs. McCain understands that Mrs. Obama is the mother of two young girls. She’s been there too. But her children are older now and she has four of them. But she understands the trials and tribulations of trying to juggle a political life and maintain some balance of family life.

wOw:How does she stay in touch with her children right now?

Blackford:She has three BlackBerrys at all times! She’s the most technologically advanced person I’ve ever met. It’s amazing. She is constantly on the phone with her children or texting them all day long.

amazing—-someone recalls ‘The Ugly American’? it was required reading for lit-majors in the early 60’s—-and as a Major Brando fan, i’ve yet to see this flix—-unforgivable, yet i didn’t know it existed—-another ‘no-no’—-my favorite, and his, flix, is ‘Burn’—-Italian cinema—-tough act… seeing that, you will see who taught Mr. Crowe acting—-my other ‘priceless’ Brando bit is ‘The Missouri Breaks’—-ya get Jack And Brando, at their best—-ala movies, i still watch Mann’s ‘Last of the Mohicans’—-one solid ‘jewel’—- as for Mr./Ms (?) ‘nuts’—-well, via my cosmogony (not cosmology—-they differ, i’ve mastered both) such fate could have ‘landed’ on any—-best say, ‘there, but for you go i.’—-

Well, the other night I watched CNN and saw the lives of both Obama and McCain. Obama met and dated a girl and then married her. McCain was a cheat, plain and simple!! When McCain was married he had several affairs and dated Cindy for almost 2 years while he was still with his first wife. She is what I call, “The younger other woman!” I’ve been cheated on, and it’s not a good feeling and for anyone to date or have an affair with a married man is unforgiveable, plain and simple. I know I don’t want a cheat for president and a home wrecker for a first lady!! They can both go to where the sun don’t shine!! But then again you will not care what I say, because you called me a 7 year old the last time we bumped heads. Glad your vote went to the cheater and angry man. Mine went to someone who is worthy of being president of the United States and his wife who will be a fantastic first lady. Oh and by the way you should change your name from OMGIAMGOING NUTS to I AM NUTS!

Joan, With all due respect…I’ve had this name for many years. Anyway…at least we do KNOW about McCain and his dirty deeds. One things for sure..with hussein they just keep a coming. Now I’m SURE you’ve already seen the latest, but just in case you haven’t. GOOGLE IT! On January 17, 2008, Obama told The San Francisco Chronicle he opposes coal-fired plants, which supply half of the nation’s electricity needs. “… if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama told the paper in January. “It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Obama wants to rebuild the electrical grid, which has badly needed it for over a decade, to a ‘smart’ grid so can distribute all US electricity from a solar array in deserts and also allows people who have solar homes to redistribute their ‘extra’ solar power into the grid (as is done in California) and it is reverses their meter (ie they get paid for producing solar power). When seen from space most of the pollution comes from ‘dirty technologies’ coal plants on eastern seaboard…and this needs to be solved as China is coming on line wih these outmoded technologies too….and when there are alternatives now, including in how the coal plants are built. Again you spew Rush Limbaugh/McCain non or half truths….because that is not what Obama said to the SF Chron….I live in SF and read the Chronicle everyday. The Gov of West Virginia AND The United Mine Workers ALSO came out and corrected McCain’s lies about the Obama statement. West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin appeared on CNBC Monday to discuss the coal controversy. Governor Manchin says he believes Obama’s statements were taken out of context. Manchin also says he believes “West Virginia is going to be the sleeper for Barack Obama.” He believes Obama could win the state in Tuesday’s election and that he will be our next President. He says Obama is the better man to help the nation’s struggling economy. United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) International President Cecil E. Roberts issued the following statement: “Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, have once again demonstrated that they are willing to say anything and do anything to win this election. Their latest twisting of the truth is about coal and some comments Sen. Obama made last January about the future use of coal in America. Here what the McCain campaign left out of Sen. Obama’s actual words: ‘But this notion of no coal, I think, is an illusion. Because the fact of the matter is, is that right now we are getting a lot of our energy from coal. And China is building a coal-powered plant once a week. So what we have to do then is figure out how can we use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon. And how can we sequester that carbon and capture it.’ Sen. Obama has been consistent with that message not just in the coalfields, but everywhere else he goes as well. Despite what the McCain campaign and some far right-wing blogs would have Americans believe, Sen. Obama has been and remains a tremendous supporter of coal and the future of coal. I noted that Sen. McCain even went so far yesterday as to say he has always been a supporter of coal. I wonder, then, how he can justify his statement at a Senate hearing in 2000 that, ‘In a perfect world we would like to transition away from coal entirely,’ and his leading role in sponsoring legislation in 2003 that would have wiped out 78 percent of all coal production in America? Fortunately, UMWA members, their families and their friends and neighbors in the coalfields know all too well what is going on here. They’re not going to fall for it, and we urge others throughout America who care about coal to review what the candidates’ records on coal actually are. We are confident that once they do, and once they see the many other benefits to working families of voting for Sen. Obama, they will make the right choice for themselves and their families.” CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — With only hours before election day, coal has become a major topic of Decision 2008. Sunday, comments resurfaced from a taped interview Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama did with the San Francisco Chronicle in January. In the interview, which has been available online for months, Obama talks about the importance of coal. He went on to talk about his cap and trade proposal to help curb global warming. “If somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” Barack Obama said to the San Francisco Chronicle in January. The campaign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain jumped on those comments today and is already sending out taped phone messages to voters in Ohio. Campaigning in Marietta today, McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin mentioned the Obama comments. “He said that, sure, if the industry wants to build coal-fired power plants, then they can go ahead and try, he says, but they can do it only in a way that will bankrupt the coal industry, and he’s comfortable letting that happen. And you got to listen to the tape,” Sarah Palin said. The Obama campaign says the quote is being taken out of context and that Obama is actually from a coal state and is a strong supporter of the industry. The campaign sent a statement today saying “the point Obama is making is that we need a transition from coal burning power plants built with old technology to plants built with advanced technologies.” Monday, the San Francisco Chronicle pointed out the interview has been available on its website since January. It was critical of blogs which claimed the audio was hidden until this point.”

odd, that ‘KniK’ road, in Wasilla, once ya pass my old turf—-coal is everywhere—-on the surface—but high-sulphur-coal—-illegal here—-there’s more such in the Matsu-Valley than anything, save ‘Beaver-Fever’—-ya get that from a parasite that easily migrates to human nervous-systems—-from ‘beaver-doo’ (did it get Ms. Palin?)—-make ya nutz—- but to Nuke-Power—-you are way behind the times—-for 4 years PBS has aired a special on German Nuke-Power Reactors—-very dramatic—-as the men who designed an absolutely ‘fail-safe’ reactor, and a Big one, put their lives on the line—-sat in the main control room, and ordered All ‘coolant’ dumped—-worst case scenario—-as Chernobyl/3-mile Island—-even worse—-and totally lethal for them, should their design be flawed—- They calmly sat, watching the core’s temp rise—-and rise—-and then, Voila! simply sink to zero—-as they predicted. so, not only are those ‘Jerries’ smart, they’ve got ‘balls’ that equal your ovaries—-WOW! what a PBS special—-for sure, any Reactor is only as safe as its builders’—-so as Von Braun. get ‘em over here—-then Safe Power may flow—-no pollution—-until we harness ‘hydrogen-fusion’, perhaps humanities’ last hope—-to under estimate the Greenhouse? Mass-extinction—-such a shame—-the end of our mutual haggling—- I’m betting Obama has seen this PBS ‘special’—-why? he’s brilliant—-and saw ‘hard-fact’ on ‘Nuke Reactors’ may be 100% safe. Coal? Palin would love it. kill us all—-let god sort us out?

so, ya want to pay $5 for a box of strawberries? get your own ass out there, work for near zero—-as an ex San Diegan, i have a dim view of Some illegals, like the one’s from TJ that tried kidnapping my 5th daughter—-or kept stealing anything not chained down (big chain)—-your beef is miss-directed—-Most illegals work as slaves, come from the interior of Mexico—-send most of their ‘slave-wages’ back to family—-you want change? quit being absurd—-go after the employers, then pay double for an orange—-and change your panties—-or better yet, pick peaches for 3$/hour—- my Canadian friends have a good solution for Their ‘illegal-USA-immigrants’—-a 3,000 mile-long zipper—-
