After Months in Hiding, John Edwards to Speak at Brown

John Edwards has been laying low as of late, but the former presidential hopeful will soak up the spotlight next week.
Brown University confirmed that Edwards will be delivering a speech — "Beautiful America" — at their Providence, Rhode Island, campus on March 10th. Edwards, you’ll recall, shrank into the shadows after admitting to having an affair in 2006, while his wife Elizabeth battled cancer.
Edwards had previously denied the allegations, but decided to come clean. He promptly disappeared and next week’s speech will be his first appearance in months. There are no details on the talk’s content, but we’re hoping he can pull it off.

You’re right. Forgiveness is indeed important and the cornerstone of any true Christian’s belief system. However forgiving does not translate into forgetting. Elizabeth and their children chose to forgive him, why, only she knows.
Bill Clinton who was arguably the most affective president certainly in my lifetime, was and is a seriously flawed man. It came out before he won the election the first time that he had cheated on Hillary, repeatedly. Our nation forgave him for his flaws and actions. And he went on to lead our nation is a manner that was stunning! Prosperity was shared across the board, rich and poor were finally able to enjoy all that America promises. But to this day I can only praise his work, not the man.
However there is a special place in Hell for a man who has lost a son in a car accident and watched his wife grieve deeply over it, find out she has a scary type of cancer that’s treatment is not going well…..and knowing all of this CHEAT on her. Consciously CHOOSE to betray her with an (in my opinion) unattractive woman for nothing more than (as he confessed) to stroke his ego.
You and others can forgive him, I can forgive him, but he is nuts if he believes he can try and stand before a sea of people and speak on anything remotely that has to do with "his opinions" or "his beliefs" on any subjects. If he wants to provide the facts and statistics on the subject of poverty, his voice is needed. But if he thinks for one second people need to cling to him again as the savior to address this most important of issues, see him again as a leader on this topic, my prayer is that he fails miserably at it.
I recognize that men cheat on their wives everyday, politicians, doctors, lawyers, garbage men and plumbers. But a man like John McCain who cheats and then leaves a wife who is sick and John Edwards who cheats on a wife who had cancer…..truly despicable.
I agree with some of what you say. However, I am not judge, jury and executioner. It really isn’t any of our business what these people do in their personal lives. And you say "I recognize that men cheat on their wives everyday,….." women also cheat, they kill each other, they kill their children, etc. It is NOT our place to judge. However, because people make mistakes (cheating on their spouse is a mistake, killing is unforgivable unless it is for self-preservation) doesn’t not negate the fact they may have some wisdom to speak to the rest of us.
You complain about John Edwards, John McCain and others, however, you almost sound like you forgave Bill Clinton because the American people prospered under his watch. And yet he was cheating long before he got in the oval office, during and after.
Newt Gingrich too left his wife in the hospital while she was sick, for another woman. Yet he can’t get on television enough and speaks often on Hannity’s program.
All I am saying is we should not judge. We all make mistakes. To err is human, to forgive is divine.
John Made a MISTAKE, it’s time to move on. Elizabeth forgave him and that’s what’s important other than him asking GOD> Too may folks are holier than thou and make mistakes but have a tendency to rank them into small, medium size and super mistakes. Mistakes are mistakes and sin is sin.
We don’t get to judge no matter how much screaming we do and how much pain we have a tendcy to cause those who do. We have all made mistakes regardless of the type.
The heart of a person is the forgiving spirit, we would all do well to live by that. This family has suffered enough at the hands of the media taking their private lives into the living rooms of Americans.
Gringrich, Clinton, Delay, McCain all have fallen short so move on. Some got significant publicity and the others received none even though two of them left sick wives with Cancer and Complete and total disability.
We would hope that this family is doing great because his spouse Liz does not need the weight of America upon her shoulders she has enough to deal with taking care of herself due to her illness.
For some reason Americans don’t understand that duping on JOhn is causing Elizabeth significant streess she doesn’t need.
For once ladies those naysayers, just wish the couple well and pray for their happiness.

While running for President, John Edwards was the only candidate who dared to tell the American public the truth about the only "real scandal" revealed this year. In this video, John Edwards explains that the problem is "corrupt capitalism" you know that, "other America":Watch:

So, yes, there are still two Americas. One asked for and got billions of dollars in government bailout money in a matter of hours. Sorry, the names of the con artists who got the bailout money have not been revealed by the National Enquirer or the Main Street Media. The other America is still begging its government for affordable healthcare, the right to a roof over their heads, and jobs. Unfortunately, Most of the people Obama has picked, so far, for his cabinet just want another good paying job. Ask them what the American people need and want, and they don’t know damn thing about it. President Obama would be better served by someone, like John Edwards, who understands both Americas: Watch:

He isn’t healthy yet - and until he looks different that he used to in his "Ken" demeanor, speaks differently, has a new hairdo, and begins to work, integate with his family, and local community, and stops seeking the limelight he should not be trusted for one word he utters.
Welcome back, John Edwards.
