Alycia Lane, Scandal-Scarred Journo Filed Suit Against CBS Affiliate, Daily News and More

Alycia Lane is making headlines again.
Lane is the former CBS 3 Philadelphia news anchor who was fired after a spat with a female officer. She’s also notorious for e-mailing sexy bikini pictures of herself to NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen – except his wife found them and got angry. All this got leaked to the press. Lane was portrayed by the press as a "homewrecker," "witch" and "whore." Well, Lane is reportedly suing several people connected with her firing and her very public destruction.
A long list of people are mentioned as defendants. Two of them include her former KYW-TV co-anchor Larry Mendte and the Daily News columnist Dan Gross, Philly.com reports.
Larry Mendte accessed Lane’s e-mails on hundreds of occasions and forwarded information to Gross — to help him write his sensational column. Mendte pleaded guilty in August to criminal charges. Philly.com reports that according to the suit, "Gross kept repeating and scandalizing the false allegations against the plaintiff in order to continue to blacken the plaintiff’s reputation, increase viewership for KYW-TV and Mendte and increase readership for the Philadelphia Daily News, as part of the conspiracy."
In December 2007, Lane smacked a cop, causing scratches to the officer’s face. She also called the woman an "[expletive] dyke." Lane was not charged with felony assault charges and served a lower sentence. She was, however, fired from KYW-TV, the CBS affiliate. Lane contends that in firing her, KYW-TV "intentionally and maliciously damaged and destroyed the plaintiff’s reputation," the suit reportedly reads.
We don’t think the Daily News saw this coming. In September, Daily News TV anchor Richard Huff recommended Lane to replace "Good Day NY" host Rosanna Scotto.
