Amy Poehler Named 'Kick Ass' Pregnant Woman by New York Mag

One of New York magazine’s "Reasons to Love New York" is "Because Our Pregnant Women Kick Ass." To prove their point, they write about an Amy Poehler "Saturday Night Live" performance — which took place just one week before she went into labor:
Which is why there was something perversely inspiring about the way that, one week before giving birth to Archie Arnett, "Saturday Night Live’s" Amy Poehler went out there swinging, her immense belly swaying over the "Weekend Update" desk, performing a wild, aggressive Sarah Palin rap — effortlessly shooting down both a dancing moose and the actual Sarah Palin.
Poehler’s performance — click here to refresh your memory — was indeed impressive. From someone who’s birthed a few bundles of joy, dancing and swaying around when your water is on the brink of exploding is a supernatural achievement. For many women, just coping with extreme nausea and concentrating on anything except not losing your breakfast is impressive. And finally, some women — especially those carrying more than one baby — deserve some sort of plaque for pulling themselves out of bed in the morning.
The magazine seems to agree with most of this, but then, for some reason, they poke fun at a few pregnant women of 2008 — including CNN anchor Campbell Brown.
Campbell Brown savaged spin doctors throughout her first trimester, sharpened by fuzz-head hormones that fell other women.
While we’re a little baffled by this "fuzz-head hormones" implication, we did some research and discovered that hormone-induced memory loss is a very real phenomenon.

More Poehler news: Two months after giving birth to son Archie, she made a surprise return last week to the late-night comedy show where she has been a regular for eight seasons. On Satuday night, she announced from her "Weekend Update" anchor desk that she’s finally leaving the show.
"This is my last show." Poehler said to the audience. "I love you and I will miss all of you very much."
We’ll miss you, too, Amy.
