Is Angelina Jolie ready to retire?

Maybe not quite yet, but the 33-year-old "Changeling" star tells the BBC she’s been mulling her options:

"I don’t plan to keep acting very long. I’m ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day." Family obviously comes first to Jolie, who tells the BBC that she has "a lot of children and a responsibility to make sure they’re growing right." Jolie and her partner, actor Brad Pitt, have three adopted children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, as well as three biological children, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.

Jolie goes on to tell the BBC that she doesn’t see herself putting her superstar career to a screeching halt, but rather wean away from acting by being more selective with her movie picks.

I tend to feel sorry for her kids, the same way I used to feel sorry for the military kids that blew through grammar school. How do you expect to give your kids roots and friendships that will last if you don’t settle down in one place?

I agree with you Rita. I also hope she cures herself of her eating disorder for the sake of her children.

I agree with you. She needs to raise these children properly before contemplating being a grandmother. That little Maddox must be at least 7 now and he needs to be going to school and making friends.

I’m a military brat, and I don’t regret a minute of it. I do however agree with you. While I love the fact that I had the opportunity to see the world and enjoyed every minute of it, I regret not having the experience of having a best friend to grow up with. I have to say tho, if I were given the choice, I’d do it all the same way.

As a child of a large military family, I can vouch for the fact that your family is all the roots you need. We may be scattered now, but home will always be where ever we get together. We manage to get together at least once a year, and we are in our 40’s and 50’s now. I know people whose families are in the next town and they never visit. The Jolie-Pitts will have one another and the children will probably be very comfortable and adaptable to many cultures and ages. This is not a bad thing.
