Ann Coulter's New Book Takes On Media's Obama Love

White House press secretary Dana Perino estimated that it would be eight months before the media fell out of love with Barack Obama, but she obviously wasn’t talking about Ann Coulter.

Coulter, who recently had her jaw wired shut, will soon publish yet another new book, "Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ And Their Assault On Media." Set to hit shelves the first week of January – that is, right before Obama’s inauguration – "Guilty" will poke fun at the media’s adoration for Obama, his Democratic peers, and take on the what Coulter describes as the "left gone wild." From the front jacket:

When it comes to bullying, no one outdoes the Left. Citing case after case, ranging from the hilariously absurd to the shockingly vicious, Coulter dissects so-called victims who are invariably the oppressors.

For instance: While B. Hussein Obama piously condemned attacks on candidates’ families, his media and campaign surrogates ripped open the court-sealed divorce records of his two principal opponents in his Senate race in Illinois.

The real question now becomes not when the media will become more critical of Obama, but whether the public will buy it - figuratively and literally, of course.

I bet a lot of people will be purchasing this book. I wonder why Dana Perino estimated that it would be eight months before the media fell out of love with Barack Obama. That’s kinda odd.

Tanja: I bet a lot of people will be purchasing this book. As long as Coulter’s books sell, she’ll keep writing them, and thanking the ladies at WoW for the free publicity.;-)

I get what you’re saying about free publicity, but I don’t think the majority of women in wowOwow would buy her book. The couple who would buy it, will hear about it from Hannity anyway. I just wish they could have wired her fingers together when they wired the jaw.

DeBúrca, I doubt that a single contributor to WoW will buy Coulter’s book. She’s a little bit over the top for the likes of most of us. But, the fact remains she’s making a good living at what she’s doing. I wonder what a conversation with her offstage would produce? In other words, does she really use that ugly language every day? And the in-your-face attitude, is that really her or a personna?

I would expect her to be even worse in private because how could a person say the horrible things she says in public without feeling very comfortable talking that way? However, she could just be THAT cynical to totally fabricate her whole persona and over the top, nasty views to make a buck… that would be even worse don’t you think so?

DeBúrca, I think it’s ugly what Coulter does and says, but I see her more as being an actress or a performer — kinda like Madonna. Do you think Madonna wears those crazy costumes and makeup around the house? Both women have a talent and they know how to make it pay off. I don’t read or listen to Coulter and I don’t watch or listen to Madonna. Same reason for both: they’re too extreme.

She may be a performer, but she puts a “pretty face” (that’s subjective, but you know what I mean) on bigotry and hatred for those who just need an excuse for their own bigotry and hatred. The prominent place she has had in the media on FOX and within the Republican Party, making speeches, gives that sort of thinking a legitimacy for some people. Madonna doesn’t spread hatred. Using theatrics to spread hatred and bigotry, is a pretty dangerous thing.

DeBúrca: Using theatrics to spread hatred and bigotry, is a pretty dangerous thing. I agree. Have a good Thanksgiving. Despite all the characters we are surrounded with, we still have a lot to be thankful for.

Hi Marjorie — I don’t disagree — I just wanted to take this opportunity to “cross the aisle”and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. I left a similar message on another post, but it was so old, didn’t know if you would see it.

Linda: …wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. How very nice of you, and certainly the same to you, your family and everyone else here. As bad as it seems, we have a lot to be thankful for… all of us. Thankful that we live in a country where we can criticize the government (Bush might not appear to be quite so thankful, but deep down I’m sure he is), and not get murdered for it. America is great — let’s all work towards keeping it that way.

Happy Thanksgiving, Marjorie. I admired your restraint and civility during the campaign. Thank you for that. Peace and grace

I bet a lot of people will be purchasing this book.” By Tanja Pineda on 11/25/2008 3:07 pm Not as many as voted for President Elect Obama. I wish they’d leave this woman’s jaws wired permanently and put both hands in casts. Sort of like the Dumbya administration’s corporate cronies that own the main stream media have done to their journalists for the last 8 years.

Do I really care what Coulter thinks? She and her type aren’t going to give the Obama administration a chance anyway. I read where her jaw is wired shut. As thin as she is now, perhaps she will melt into the netherworld and disappear forever.

Diana OOOHHHH LOL. I don’t think she is going to disappear. LOL
