Ann Coulter's New Book Takes On Media's Obama Love

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

White House press secretary Dana Perino estimated that it would be eight months before the media fell out of love with Barack Obama, but she obviously wasn’t talking about Ann Coulter.

Coulter, who recently had her jaw wired shut, will soon publish yet another new book, "Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ And Their Assault On Media." Set to hit shelves the first week of January – that is, right before Obama’s inauguration – "Guilty" will poke fun at the media’s adoration for Obama, his Democratic peers, and take on the what Coulter describes as the "left gone wild." From the front jacket:

When it comes to bullying, no one outdoes the Left. Citing case after case, ranging from the hilariously absurd to the shockingly vicious, Coulter dissects so-called victims who are invariably the oppressors.

For instance: While B. Hussein Obama piously condemned attacks on candidates’ families, his media and campaign surrogates ripped open the court-sealed divorce records of his two principal opponents in his Senate race in Illinois.

The real question now becomes not when the media will become more critical of Obama, but whether the public will buy it - figuratively and literally, of course.

Yeah, sorry about that - didn’t mean to swoop in and fight your battle for you. But when I see someone blatantly breaking the rules of their own logic, it becomes ever so hard to keep my mouth shut!

I know exactly what you mean, Kryssi. Hope you’ve had a fantastic Thanksgiving….

Kryssi, You just make me really LOL everytime I read your wonderful touch of sarcasm. It is also amazing to me that people like this Frank seem to want to identify all women in one category, while, unwilling to identify some as estute, intelligent, and wise. While the women he lumps together are those who on one hand are air heads, hair-brained, half-wits in some cases, very underhanded, and have a kind of tinge of evil about them. It just makes my skin crawl when I think about that type of woman. UGH! I love Whoopi, she is definitely bright, intelligent, funny as all get out, and attractive. I most especially love that little glimmer in Whoopi’s eyes when she is about to say something very funny, and, or very profound. While, I enjoy looking a Palin, I can stand it when she opens her mouth and speaks! Now, with Hillary, I enjoy the way she looks, AND her intellect. I love to hear her speak! What do ya s’pose makes the difference? Upbringing, of course, no. 1. Education, no.2, and political slant no. 3. There is more, I know… just wanted to make the point.

Diana, eewww, I so agree. It is tragic, that someone like Coulter who is fairly intelligent, she has to be in order to make money the way she does, is also so hatefilled and contemptuous of anything which moves us into the 21st century. You know, progress. It is quite infuriating to me that there are some people who also lump other women into the same sentence with her, as though we are all kindred spirits, or like minded, or ignorant, or hateful as she. I just want her to go away. I must say, when I heard about her jaw I felt bad because I wouldn’t wish that on most anyone. I also laughed, because I thought how fitting… someone who is so vile in her speech.

Ro, maybe it will give her 6 weeks to think about all of the anger she harbors in herself…

Why is wowowow pushing Coulter on us—again— with yet another ad for another one of her adolescent & hate-filled books??!! This woman has NO admirable qualities, she’s a sell-out to the hate-filled venom the Republican party WANTS to say—but can’t because it’s too despicable. They sick Coulter on us & SHE says it for them. They are beginning their assault on President Obama with this Bs hatefilled venom. Shame on you, wowowow. Listen—only one in 3 citizens are conservatives, & some of them are decent conservatives, who dislike Coulter’s brand of nasty because it gives conservatives a bad name. I seriously doubt that most visitors on here welcome or like Coulter. Most of America is progressive—2 out of 3. We want her gone.

Hi Char….I am probably naive in extremis here, but I don’t feel that anything has been pushed on me….They are bound to know (the wowOwowsers) that almost no one here would touch her book with a fork….so maybe they just dangle it out there on a slow news day to see if we’re awake….I wonder if the vehement comments don’t, in fact, drive some possible posters away….Don’t get me wrong, I love the vehement comments….. The Hollywood news doesn’t make me want to go to movies and the Etceterist doesn’t make me want to forego cashmere for recessionista chic… Maybe it’s an attempt at “fair and balanced”…..

Georgia, I see your points & they are valid for the most part. Ads DO affect consumer choices however, even when the people reading them don’t believe they do. That’s why the ads are there—because they’ve been proven to work (though not on you). Plus, it’s important for consumers (& the people on this blog are all consuming what it’s offering)—-to protest when worthless things that add nothing of value to society & in fact, hurt society, are promoted to us as if they do have redeeming value. Coulter is one of those things. If no one protests to the people who are accepting money to push these things at us—-we can all expect more & more worthless things to be thrust in our faces—-& not just objects like a book, but worthless & vile ideas too. Ask Fox news. As more & more “good people do nothing”—-what is considered “normal” sinks ever lower, along with our society. That’s why it’s important to protest when worthless & nasty things—like Coulter’s book—are flopped out there as if her brand of hate-mongering is ok. It’s not. It has already lowered the standards of journalism in so-called respectable newspapers—none of which would have published her type of hate filled rhetoric if her behavior were not considered acceptable now. If enough people protest, the people who take the money to push worthless & harmful things will decide not to anymore. Ask those who have fired Coulter for going “too far” & being “too” nasty. The thing is—no one is protesting against her brand of crazy—-TO WOWOWOW SPECIFICALLY—except me. They’re just bemoaning Coulter in general. Expect to get more of her…..

Char: …when worthless things that add nothing of value to society & in fact, hurt society, are promoted to us as if they do have redeeming value. You’re only seeing one side of the story. Ann Coulter plays an important part in America’s world of free speech. Coulter, Crowley, Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity and all the rest of the rights should never be silenced.

Marjorie, Ann Coulter does NOT “play an important part in America’s world of free speech”! What “important part” enjoys hate & mean-spirited insults? The conservative part? Do I have to quote all the crap she slings around in the place of where a civilized discussion of the issues should be? I’m all for conservatives’ right to criticize liberals & their ideas. No one wants to “silence” the Right. Just Coulter’s sick brand of hate-mongering What would make you think Coulter’s disgusting behavior has “redeeming value”?

Char, About Ann Coulter, she is what she is. To silence her would be worse.

Coulter is simply crass and she plays to the likes of Hasselback on the view and others who think like her. They’ll be the ones buying her books, they always do.

The problem with Ann Coulter (as a conservative right winger) is unlike Sarah Palin and others of her ilk, Sarah Palin doesn’t strike me as a mean hearted, cold or malicious person. To her core you can tell she has a good heart. She may have said some really dark and disturbing things, but I believe they were said in a failed attempt to gain votes and support and hopefully advance her career opportunities. Ann Coulter on the other hand strikes me as a person who is genuinely hate filled. She is evil personified, and she scares me. That’s one scary woman.

Belinda- Ann Coulter can come across as harsh and very direct. However she does back up what she says. She does her research and I have to give credit to that. Do I agree with everything that she says? NO. Let me stress that-NO. Do I agree to freedom of speech? YES. Gov. Palin does have a good heart, not cold nor malicious. Do I agree with everything about Gov Palin? NO. Do I respect her? YES. Media bias against Gov. Palin? YES hands down. Take care Belinda.
