The Associated Press reports today that Jerome Corsi, the author of the The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, is being held in immigration headquarters in Kenya, Africa, while his immigration status is checked.

Reuters reporting on the scene said that Corsi arrived at a Nairobi hotel to promote the launch of his book but was whisked away by authorities.

Corsi’s publicist told Reuters that "his passport was fine, his visa was fine." He reportedly broke no immigration rules in the country where Reuters reports that a recent survey showed that 89 percent of Kenyans support Obama, versus just three percent for Republican rival McCain.

Corsi, 62, is an Ohio native. His New York Times bestselling book, The Obama Nation, was published in 2008 and attacks the Democratic presidential candidates with what critics have called fallacious information and unproven rumors. I think the Title of this article is unfair, their are those that will read the title and assume that this implies that Obama has had something to do with this. Not a Fair thing to do!

Jennifer: I think the Title of this article is unfair, …

I thought Loud-Mouth-and-Loose-Lipped Palin Owes Obama an Apology for This One was unfair, too. But there you have it, life is not fair.

Marjorie,
And you state so. That is all I have done here was to express my opinion. You did on Margo article. Allow me the same rights you give yourself.

Yep. Go for it. I’ll even agree with you, the title is eye catching and a bit unfair.

Marjorie,
Thank you and I do agree that Margo took liberty with her title. I think we are all a little hot headed because of all the Chaos in the world right now. Another 900 billion…Good Grief! Well I hope that you are on board tonight. Even though we are on opposing tickets, I do not disagree with everything that the GOP stands for if he had not picked Palin I might have voted for him. By listen to others points of view, we come to understand one another better. And really it is a toss up as to who will win this election. So keep on pointing out their good points and Obamas Negative ones their some is truth in all. See you tonight right here on the wOw forum.

I know I shouldn’t say this but I can’t help myself……Ha! I love it!

Jerome Corsi, those dark people in Africa….they can read you know. They aren’t all in the bush, shooting lions with spears and starving to death with flies swarming their heads.

They have access to libraries and book stores, computers and magazines. They speak English and understand many things about America. They know who you are and know what you had to say about one of their descendants…..Ha! A bit unfair I know, but I love that you were detained.

Belinda: …but I love that you were detained.

Why? In what way does this help Obama? Unless Obama has something to hide.

To me, this just adds fuel to the fire. One more thing the Republicans can point to. If Obama has any influence in Kenya, he would be wise to demand Corsi’s release.

Just my opinion.

Corsi being detained in Kenya shouldn’t help or hurt Sen. Obama. If there are any Americans that want to hold the actions of the Kenyan government against Obama, that speaks to their own bias an intellectual immaturity.

There are a multitude of writers, politicians and notaries from other countries that are detained by the U.S. government for nothing more than their name. A novel or op-ed that they may have written which was believed to be against the U.S., a negative comment about our president. Forgive me for seeing the HUGE irony in this situation.

So it’s clear you don’t agree with me on this one Marjorie, but I think this is hilarious. I love it!

Belinda,

He (Corsi) was briefly detained at immigration headquarters before being brought to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for deportation, said Joseph Mumira, head of criminal investigations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

We can all rest easy. Corsi was only trying to sell his book… but Kenyans are proud of what they consider to be their native son (Obama) as well they should be.

This event could produce a negative backlash for Obama. It’s almost like it’s been orchestrated. I wonder if his campaign will issue a statement. Damned it they do (and draw attention to it), damned if they don’t (seems like they are condoning it). This one falls into the - the thing you didn’t expect to happen - file.

Pray nothing happens to Corsi because all Kenyans will be under scrutiny, and Obama might pay the price.
