Ashley Judd Targets Palin Over Wolf Hunting (Video)

Sarah Palin’s got a new public enemy: actress Ashley Judd. Only it’s not Palin’s clothes, kids or conservatism drawing fire — it’s her aerial killing of wolves in Alaska.
Judd and the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund launched a Web-based campaign this week targeting the Alaska governor over her environmental record. Among the documents and calls for actions, viewers can find a video on EyeOnPalin.org that blasts Palin for allegedly promoting the killing of the animals, and even accuses her of proposing bounties of $150 for severed forelegs of the wolves. Palin is "casting aside science and championing the slaughter of wildlife," Judd says in the ad. "It is time to stop Sarah Palin and stop this senseless savagery." Palin has said she is worried about Alaska’s hunters, who compete with wolves in hunting other animals in the state.
Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund has long had an enemy in Palin; the group launched anti-Palin ads in several battleground states during the presidential campaign, as well.
"Sarah Palin isn’t fading into the background, so neither are we," said Defenders Action Fund President Rodger Schlickeisen. "Given her known political aspirations, the American public deserves to know what she’s doing in Alaska, and about her extreme anti-conservation policies. The list is long, and we will document it all, from her continued promotion of the aerial slaughter of wolves and bears, to her lawsuit to remove the polar bear from the endangered species list, even as the sea ice melts beneath it."
During the campaign, Judd was vocal in her criticism of John McCain and Palin, particularly on their record of voting for women’s privacy and reproductive health. Voting for Palin is "like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders," Judd half-joked.
