Ashley Judd Targets Palin Over Wolf Hunting (Video)

Sarah Palin’s got a new public enemy: actress Ashley Judd. Only it’s not Palin’s clothes, kids or conservatism drawing fire — it’s her aerial killing of wolves in Alaska.

Judd and the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund launched a Web-based campaign this week targeting the Alaska governor over her environmental record. Among the documents and calls for actions, viewers can find a video on EyeOnPalin.org that blasts Palin for allegedly promoting the killing of the animals, and even accuses her of proposing bounties of $150 for severed forelegs of the wolves. Palin is "casting aside science and championing the slaughter of wildlife," Judd says in the ad. "It is time to stop Sarah Palin and stop this senseless savagery." Palin has said she is worried about Alaska’s hunters, who compete with wolves in hunting other animals in the state.

Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund has long had an enemy in Palin; the group launched anti-Palin ads in several battleground states during the presidential campaign, as well.

"Sarah Palin isn’t fading into the background, so neither are we," said Defenders Action Fund President Rodger Schlickeisen. "Given her known political aspirations, the American public deserves to know what she’s doing in Alaska, and about her extreme anti-conservation policies. The list is long, and we will document it all, from her continued promotion of the aerial slaughter of wolves and bears, to her lawsuit to remove the polar bear from the endangered species list, even as the sea ice melts beneath it."

During the campaign, Judd was vocal in her criticism of John McCain and Palin, particularly on their record of voting for women’s privacy and reproductive health. Voting for Palin is "like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders," Judd half-joked.

Whatever, Sherrie. I don’t know about the rest of you on here, but someone has displaced priorities. For Ashley Judd to create a video out-of-the-blue, concerning something Sarah Palin did years ago, is what I call “out-of-touch” with reality. These people are so completely stuck on one idea, that it isn’t funny. What is correct, is that we are about to go into a full-fledged recession, leading into a depression, while idiots like Ashley Judd proceed to make complete fools out of themselves (to put it lightly). Get real, get with it — and get a life!

I love Ashley Judds work but am deeply disappointed in her attack on Govenor Palin. It is obviously she fears Gov. Palin and chooses only to attack her personally verses working with her own organization to make the changes she claims she wants to support to help the wolves. Stick to acting please and leave your politics at home thank you very much.

omg…not another Palin topic….!!!! Can we ever discuss what is going on with the Stimulus 900 billion package??? How about Daschle??? How about Iran’s new satellite launch??? How about Judd Gregg??? How about Holder’s confirmation??? How about Bank of America forks over $2 million to Acorn??? Let’s stick with today’s issues…Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Libra: Let’s stick with today’s issues… Amen. Who cares about what Governor Palin did years ago, and who really cares what Ashley Judd thinks about it. There is so much going on today that is more worthy of discussion. But, maybe that’s the point: Palin is the smoke.

How about discussing this: USA Today/Gallup poll shows 64% approve of the job the president is doing so far in office, down from a pre-Inauguration high of 83%. The more ya get to know him, the less perfect he seems.

Or this: Opinion of Democrat Froma Harrop from the Providence Journal: …there’s too much money at stake to put someone with Daschle’s history in charge of health-care reform. No one expects the Obama administration to be as clean as the candidate vowed. But if Daschle sails through, then the magic of the promise will be close to gone. The Indies just might be getting another member.

You know, Marjorie, I think you’ve just solved the abortion debate. We simply need to tell the people who would like to see Roe vs. Wade overturned, “Who cares what the Supreme Court did years ago?!” After all, it’s not relevant any more! WoW! You’re really on to something! We can apply the same reasoning to so many things: no more debate about Iraq - after all, Bush decided to invade years ago, so we’ll just stay there; no more disagreement about affirmative action, legalization of pot, or anything at all. Brilliant, simply brilliant!!!!!

Changing the subject here…did anyone hear about Christian Bale losing it while filming another movie?? “The incident was audiotaped, and it’s amazing. It happened on the set after a director of photography accidentally ruined a scene by walking onto the set. Bale lost it, screaming, yelling and threatening to quit if the bosses didn’t fire the dude.” http://www.tmz.com/2009/02/02/bale-went-ballistic
