Ashley Judd Tells wOw She's Shoring up Support in Palin Wolf War

Editor’s Note: Ashley Judd, who squared off with Sarah Palin over the governor’s possible plan to allow aerial wolf hunting, sent this note to wOw last night. Now we’re passing it along to you.

Hi Friends,

This is a humble request for  energetic and prayerful support. In the wake … the huge wake … of attention surrounding the video I filmed on behalf of slaughtered wolves in the state of Alaska, which was organized by the impeccable organization Defenders of Wildlife and explicitly seeks to expose Sarah Palin’s anti-wildlife mania, I have agreed to appear on "Larry King Live" tomorrow, Friday February 6!!!!

At first I said no to all requests, and boy, have they been rolling in. I wanted to put principles before personalities; once my personality helped attract attention to the atrocities, I wanted to let Defenders’ principles be the answer to all inquiries and further news stories. However, there has been a wild and unexpected amount of attention and "Larry King" seemed like a good time and place to efficiently make one appearance. Rodger S., president and CEO of Defenders, will join me; my hope is that his presence helps to make it less about me as an individual and much more focused on the urgency of stopping the aerial slaughter of wolves.

As you can imagine, this is hugely important to me. Your support is invaluable. May my thoughts, speech and actions be guided by the Power greater than ourselves that loves all beings everywhere.

Xo,
Ashley, Wolf Song Deer Walker

Okay, now if you are able to read and write well enough to post a message here, you are surely smart enough to comprehend that sometimes, people don’t find what you said worthy of responding to. Sometimes it’s just a waste of good time. But what it doesn’t mean is that the dazzling intellect displayed in your post wowed those who disagree with into silence; it just means most people have more important things to do. Don’t kid yourself, nobody got their mind changed by any of the senseless rants going on here or any where else.

Gramma J, not sure why you are responding and saying that what I said is not worthy of responding. Your “senseless rant” addressing my post will certainly keep me away from WoW so I do not have emails informing me of your comment.

Gramma J…..I totally agree — “If you are surely smart enough to comprehend that sometimes, people find what you said worthy of responding to”. I think that was an interesting quote. Don’t know how long you’ve been posting on here but I have felt that way many times on this site when trying to explain to people why I didn’t vote for their choice. They could never seem to understand that I didn’t agree with his issues. Name calling was common sport on here for those who disagreed — Those who voted for Obama were correct and those who voted for McCain were, well, let’s just say villified! So, I never kidded myself, nobody changed my mind and I didn’t change theirs — and there were days and days of senless ranting going on from all sides. But, the Sarah Palin threads are the worse. And, in case you haven’t read all the threads I would advise you to do so. Maybe you don’t like Sarah and that’s fine with me, however, the name calling and the insults hurled at this woman are truly uncalled for.

I saw the video, and its terrible, but Ashley and DOW are really distorting the truth. Some of snippets I saw from Larry King are outright lies. Her liberal activism, very large ego and hatred for Palin is effecting her judgement. BTW, didn’t Ashley run over and kill two people? Perhaps she should spend her time promoting safe driving.

Ashley Judd and The Defenders of Wildlife are correct. Good interview with both of them. Nice interview Larry King.

I just watched Ashley Judd’s interview with Larry King and was impressed that she stood her ground, knowledgeably and confidentially. She is a force to be reckoned with because she takes a stand only after having done her homework. And Ashley speaks intelligently - no winking, no “you betchas”, no ungrammatical sentences. I’d love to see her debate Sarah Palin on this issue. Palin would be left in the dust. Great interview, Ashley.

OMG Ashley, since when are you Ashley known by a Native American name Judd? Since you decided to take on hunting. Geez, girl, that’s what people do in the wilds. Animals were put on earth by God for us, not strictly for pets. Why can’t that register with some? Anyway, with all the problems in the world, not the least of which is alcoholism, drug addiction, child abuse, and etc, you have to use your second hand celebrity to shout about wolves? Where were you before Palin became the word of the day? Sounds like you just found a decent bandwagon to jump on to bring yourself back out of obscurity. Get a grip, you phoney. It’s so funny. We don’t hear anything for a long time, Palin gets some lot of attention, and all of a sudden, Ashley climbs out of the darkness in to the light to spout about animals. There are so many more worthy (people oriented) causes, and she’s worried about wolves. Believe me, they aren’t disappearing. Nothing to worry about Sweetheart. Get a real platform.

Traci…good post…and so, so true…I’m not worried about Gov. Palin…she is a very popular and strong woman…she will not let this defeat her in the least…she knows her state rather well, so she will do what’s right for the people and wildlife in her state….I have no fear of this. Everytime there is a Palin topic…this happens…so anymore I just scroll through the nonsense of women bashing women! Let’s talk about something with substance…give us some topics with true issues…please!!!!!!!!!!

Power greater than ourselves that loves all beings everywhere” Oh yeah, you’ve definitely been to AA…you can’t say God even? If you have to talk around it vaguely, you are a sham. Sorry, my opinion.
