'The Bachelor' Jason Mesnick Is Happy With Molly Malaney; Jillian Harris Named 'Bachelorette' 2009

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

"The Bachelor" Jason Mesnick and his son give Molly Malaney two thumps up. In case you missed Tuesday night’s "After the Final Rose: Part 2," we discover that Mesnick and Malaney are "very happy" together.

Also last night, Mesnick defended his decision to retract his proposal to Melissa Rycroft and ask Malaney to forgive him and possibly take him back. "I’m not proud of what I did to [Rycroft], but I made the right choice for all of us," he said. "I followed my heart, and Molly is everything I’ve always wanted."

Malaney, 24, said she didn’t take Mesnick back so easily. "I really grilled him," she said. Well, we should hope so!

Malaney also announced she is moving from Milwaukee to Seattle, to be with Jason and his son, Ty. On Monday night’s episode we saw Mesnick tell Rycroft that he regretted his proposal after they left the hooplah of the show. Rycroft called him a "bastard," and when asked what led to his change of heart, Mesnick couldn’t provide her with a decent answer.

We wish both these ladies happiness with whomever or however they find it.

A third woman from this season’s show will also be searching for The One. Jillian Harris, who was America’s sweetheart in this season’s "The Bachelor," will be the "The Bachelorette."

The skinny is that Jason was told by program managers to set this whole thing up. I find the whole thing bizzare. This is supposed to be "real life"––?

This show was all set up at the end at least!  Jason was told he had to tell Melissa he made a mistake and that he was to ask Molly for a second chance…made for better ratings I suppose.  It’s very disappointing if that is really the case and it is supposed to be…it will lose me for one and many others I’m sure would not be so keen to watch it again.

Its my understanding that he wanted to break up with Melissa in private, but it was in his contract that any "changes" in the relationship would be televised. He explained that the two were "not together" before they appeared on Monday’s show, and there was even discussion backstage about whether or not she would wear her ring…its entertainment, its harmless, and no one forces anyone to watch if they choose not to.

I think the whole situation is pretty sad.  I didnt really care which girl he picked b/c I think he could have been happy with either one of them.  If ABC put him up to picking Melissa just to hurt her and choose Molly, that is wrong of ABC.  If that is the case, they played it very well.  I am not sure what is in the contract but the prior Bachelor’s break up all the time and none of them have been on TV

The first after the Final Rose was taped 6 weeks after they left New Zealand and then last nights show was taped 6 weeks after the first After the Final Rose…so that was last week sometime.

I have watched both the Bachelor and Bachelorette from the beginning and I can say that I will not watch anymore.  Its all a beauty contest…

I’m with you C Hardy, I won’t be watching it again either, even if Jiillian the next Bachelorette is from Canada.

Jason was enough to turn me off that show for good.

Catherine, I was all for Deanna also and was so hoping her and Jesse would work out.  I liked Jesse.  But when they broke up-I was upset but now to see Jason and what he did or "had" to do, I am more upset over that.  He could have broken up with her on the phone and just went through w/ the After the Final Rose…I mean its not like ABC needs anymore viewers for this show.

Oh well, guess it will be off to another show for me during this normal time slot and if I cant find anything then early to bed for me!

Molly and Jason need to go back to Seattle and get on with thier lives…I suspect Melissa already has!

I was hoping all along that he would choose Molly, partly because she is a local woman. But HOW she got him is still sticking in my craw. The bottom line is she is supposedly happy and that is all that matters. But I stand by my previous statement on this subject, this will be the last year I watch The Bachelor. They sank to an all time low with this season.

Anyone who wants to be "The Bachelorette" just needs to go to an online dating site to find Mr. Right - in the privacy of her own home, at her own pace, on her own terms. How to do it? Read "THE INTELLIGENT WOMAN’S GUIDE TO ONLINE DATING: And She Lived Happily Ever After." Available on Amazon.
