The Best Super Bowl Commercials (Videos)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
I'll drink to that

We’re sure Pittsburgh Steelers fan Barack Obama is thrilled his team won the Super Bowl last night. And fans from all sides, we’re sure, loved Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s half-time performance. But what about the ads, long a staple of Super Bowl entertainment? Most commentators were not bowled over by this year’s crop of less-than-super ads, but there were a few that we actually did enjoy. Below, four commercials that held our attention:

For the romantics in the crowd, Budweiser:
Clydesdale Circus was a treat. We loved the way nothing could keep the starry-eyed Clydesdale horse separated from his true love, Daisy the dancing horse.

For Alec Baldwin fans: The irrestible Baldwin made fun of how TV rots your brain for — what else? — the TV-centric HULU website that really had us laughing.

For laughs with Conan O’Brien:  There was nothing like comedian Conan O’Brien’s wonderful disco humiliation in this ad for Bud Light, which he allegedly thought would only be seen in Sweden. Luckily it made it to the Super Bowl.

For cheap thrills: We’ll admit, this spot for Cash4Gold.com, featuring Ed McMahon and MC Hammer, was tacky, but that was the point. Seeing the financially troubled duo decide what gold-plated goodies to hock was, in a word, priceless.

My son called from Rio, complained that the pubs down there don’t show the funny US commercials when showing the Super Bowl - said you lose half the fun of the game!!!

Maybe the Tucson one was the “best.” When that woman unzipped his pants we were all expecting perhaps that she would haul out a bottle of Pepsi. W-e-l-l, what a surprise - not Pepsi! The ad heard around the world, and what a furor..both rage and laughter.ComCast will take $10 off the bill of everybody complaining, which is going to set them back a lot of $$$.
