Boy George and Martha Stewart: Both Banned. But From Different Countries

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

What do former Culture Club gender bender Boy George and our favorite Power House Frau Martha Stewart have in common? Both have been denied travel visas in recent days. Boy George has been stopped from traveling to the United States. Martha has been stopped from traveling to the United Kingdom.

Just last week, Britain’s Home Office denied Martha Stewart, who was seeking to travel there for business meetings with English companies and business leaders, entry into Britain. It is reported that her 2004 federal conviction for lying to the U.S. Attorney’s Office about a controversial stock sale is behind the visa denial.

Today, the singer Boy George, whose real name is George O’Dowd, has been turned down by the U.S. State Department on his request to enter for a concert tour. His request was denied because of his 2006 conviction for lying about a burglary, according to reports.

It is my hope that in the last days of office when President Bush decides to issue ‘Presidential Pardons’ that Martha Stewart’s name will be on the list.

Bonnie, I couldn’t agree with you more. But I think we’d better hope that Barack Obama pardons Martha, because I doubt Bush will. After all, he had her put away as a diversion to the Enron scam of the day. She really got a bad deal. Have a pleasant day.

Hey Bonnie, Lets start an email campaign to have Bush pardon Martha Stewart. Do you think it would go? Maybe if everyone here did it as well.

Hmmm, wow! This is amazing, all that money and they still have trouble being honest with themselves and others. I guess money doesn’t buy you much in the way of character.

How could Britain refuse Martha? They desperately need some of her food ideas! Shepherds Pie…Yuck! Boy George…that’s another story.

Oy, and how to the point? Of course the Brits can match her pot for pot in the gardening department.

Mugsy- the Brits can match anyone but the Japanese for gardening IMO. I adore the formal gardens I saw i England but a Japanese garden just totally speaks to my soul and give me such peace.
