Reese Witherspoon wishing Spears a Happy Birthday on "GMA"

It’s always nice to hear when somebody is getting their life back on track – especially when that person is Britney Spears, the fallen pop star who became the two-time divorced mother of two young kids.

Spears is slowly getting her life back on track and this latest "Good Morning America" appearance is being hailed by entertainment reporters and fans as a stunning performance. Britney Spears’s appearance on "GMA" this morning comes on the her 27th birthday — and the day her new album, "Circus," hits stores. Spears lip-synched and danced two singles from her new album.

After an ugly divorce and custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Spears suffered a mental breakdown that left her shaving her head and throwing temper tantrums. Later, her father gained conservatorship of her estate. The media went from portraying Spears as a beautiful entertainer to a tragic child star … and for some time, it seemed that the world had given up on the singer.

But now stars are coming out to wish Spears the best of luck. "GMA" aired pre-taped clips of celebrities wishing her well, including Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman and the cast of "Desperate Housewives." Watch:

And even though she might not have Barbra Streisand or Celine Dion vocal talents, the girl can surely work a stage and entertain. Watch:

Belinda .

This weekend MTV ran an expose’ behind the scenes of Britney in terms of her life, the real story. She answered questions about why she shaved her head, the end of her marriage, kids, loneliness, family, and money….everything. She was very candid and I dare say, raw. She admitted emotions that I think all intelligent adults would have assumed were at play in her life. I have a new found respect for her and I have to say, it changed how I view her. Some of the decisions she has made in life I question and wouldn’t wish for her, but I now have a better understanding why she chose them.

She is truly a nice but very naïve woman that I would defy any of us, being put in the position that she is living in (that being a fishbowl of sorts), could survive unscathed or emotionally scarred in some way.

I am so sorry. Who is in charge of this young woman’s career. Criminy! She’s just not well.
