Just when things started coming around for Britney Spears…

The popstar appeared with Madonna at her show in Los Angeles last week to enthusiastic applause, but then yesterday afternoon Spears received quite a shock when her youngest son went into a suspected seizure after suffering from an allergic reaction which caused him to have hives, itching and irritability.

Jayden James, 2, had been playing at the Spears’ Serenity Mansion when he was suddenly rushed to the emergency ward at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in a "unresponsive," and "vague state," according to a source who revealed the information to U.K.’s Daily Mail. Mayhem ensued as Britney first dialed 9-1-1, but then rushed her son to the hospital with Jamie-Lynn off-shooting the paparazzi in another car.

Though they’re based in Los Angeles, Britney and her two sons had gone home to Kentwood, LA., to visit her family. It was Britney’s first solo trip with her sons since her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, received full custody in July. It was reported that Spears, 26, refused to leave Jayden’s bedside. Both she and her mother Lynne Spears stayed overnight as doctor tried to determine what had happened to him.

Today, sources revealed Jayden was "doing fine." Kevin Federline reportedly was on his way from Los Angeles to the hospital in Louisiana. The visit home was much anticipated as Britney prepared for her promotional tour of her new album, Circus.

Tight-lipped representatives for Spears and Federline had no comment.
