Candice Bergen and Her Brother

Candice Bergen
My favorite relative, by FAR, is my brother, Kris, who is 14 years younger than I and whom I have always called — for reasons I now forget — Zoo. Until my daughter was born, he was my favorite person in the world.

Now, of course, he is second but still deeply loved by me. He has the loopiest sense of humor of almost anyone I know and is always fairly unpredictable. Sometimes shockingly so. The last e-mail I got from him said simply, "Please send cheese."

H’m, cheese… with crackers and grapes and white wine… Not a bad idea!

I love it how u chose ur brother to be ur fav relative. No one can stop the brother love. Of course I have one sister and she is enough to handle, quite a bundle, being so different from me in every way. I would say that my fav relative is my aunt Pam from overseas. SHe is such a nice person to me and my sister and our family. She’s my father’s sister. SO motherly and warm and very good at caring for people. I like how she always says “Tuh,” at the end of each of her sentences, she speaks some dutch. I mean, I enjoy all her visits to Guyana and I really enjoy her company all the time. I think my mother’s mother and my father’s mother, my grandmas come next. They are so old and wise.LOL> Great post Miss Candice. Of course Im still a teen, maybe my views will change when I get older.

Candice, Like you, my daughter was 14 when my youngest son was born, 6 years ago, and they have had a special bond that started even before his birth. She was so excited waiting for him to come and has been close to him from day one. He absolutely adores her and she him.

My favorite person is my sister Christine. Only one year younger yet in ways years older. I coin her as the “stronger” of us both. Regardless, on old home movies we were dressed like twins! Today marks a day I lend my support to a mornful mother…Christine lost her daughter at the estimated age of 16. We don’t know how she died, only that Brandy’s remains were discovered by hunters on a sand bar in the middle of a river. Today is Brandy’s birthday, and as a token of rememberence, we go out and buy a balloon and set it loose for her sending it up to heaven. It is at this point I feel the kindest thing I can do is just be there for her. Out of all my siblings she is the most creative, funny and kind. We visit at least once a week, and talk about her new completed craft creations (funny and cute I might add) and I always buy stuff that she makes. I’m her biggest fan, and I like it that way. And don’t get me started about how generous she is around the holidays! She puts me to shame! One time she talked me into going door-to-door collecting blankets for the homeless with a red flyer wagon trailing behind us.
