Candice Bergen Aims to Live to 98

Candice Bergen

Oi. One hundred. Do I really have the energy? Does my daughter? Yet … so much I’d like to know. The age I aim for now is 90. And that seems greedy.

I’d love to know what changes will happen that will knock our socks off. Technology. Medicine. China. A new imploded world order. It won’t be tidy. OK. I’ll shoot for 98.

That’s why we need to invest in biomedical research, Candy. The prospect of nuclear war, famine and other forecasted calamities gives one pause about wanting to hit triple digits on the age scale.

I want to be around as long as possible as I am very curious and want to know what exciting things will happen in the world and hopefully do something worthwhile myself. Having said that I would want to be healthy and mentally alert when I hit 90 so that life is still fulfilling.

I’m 62 just received a clean bill of health regarding my stage 3-b Ovarian Cancer. When diagnosed in January of this year I was convinced I’d die. My dad lived to 97 and mom died this past October at the age of 77. I’m hoping I will live to be a 100 and of course, with all my physical and mental faculties. There is nothing more important then my family. Seeing my 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren grow and live in this world is amazing. I need at least that time to watch them become adults. Thats why we created our blog www.grammology to bring grandma’s back to the family. We have so much to share regarding our life experince. Much I’d have preferred not to know about. Having said that, why not show them what living can be and help their lives become prosperous from what we know. Express by action the importance of family and sharing as much as possible together, and being there when and if needed. Great question Candice and I wish you all the healthy years you long for. Who cares about our changing bodies instead watching those you love can bring a joy and satisfaction nothing else can compare too. Having grandchildren is a treasure there are no words for. You have to live it to understand the moment. My youngest Noah had his first day of kinder garden yesterday. Those times can only happen once. Living is loving and understanding the real importance of life your family and real friends. Dorothy from grammology www.grammology.com Having an opportunity to know more aboout you and your friends is such a joy…Realizing many of your feelings, needs, and joys are like ours is even better. What a wonderful blog site…..

I definitely want to live to 100. A late bloomer, I didn’t do much with my early adult years. I’ve raised two extraordinary boys and am now at 57 starting a new chapter in my life….working on a masters in instructional technology (maybe on to a Phd). It’s an exciting field and I want to be around long enough to learn as much as possible and be able (okay I’m getting idealistic now) to add something to the future of education myself. I feel like I have so much more to do in this life.
