Candice Bergen Needs a Photo Organizer

I gave up on trying to keep printed photos a long time ago. They always ended up lost in some box labeled as something else so I never knew where to find them!

I now use ACDSee Photo Manager to upload photos from my digital camera to my PC. I sort them by the month/year they were taken. I can then manipulate the photos with Photo Manager, i.e., get rid of the red eyes, resize, etc. Once I’ve finished all the editing, I upload them to my Kodak Gallery account (small monthly charge but well worth it!).

Kodak Gallery allows me to create “albums” and share them with friends and family. It also allows me to purchase prints if I want them or have the prints framed.

My mother-in-law is 86 and she likes photos she can hold and show off at church, etc. I can order prints for her and have them sent. I can also have pix framed and sent to her. Sure takes the hassle of having a print made, framed and then mailed manually!

I can understand. My dad is putting a family history in photos book together and had to go thru at least 2,000 photos and several papers, letters, etc. and scan them all into the computer. Back in the 20’s when my grandmothers side got a camera they went photo mad.

The short way of dealing with this is to scan in hi - rez all your photos onto a computer hard drive and then sort them later.

Do not take the chance of losing them to fire or theft. You can plop four phtots at a time on the scanner and hit ONE button and then, four at a time you are saving all your photos. Take them with you on your laptop and when you are on those long boring plane rides and you are too tired to work, but too zoned to work, you can hunt and peck and split the four-per-page photos, and write funny captions that YOU want said on each photo.

Makes the trip go fast!

I like Flickr for storing mine and it is also very nice getting pleasant comments on my efforts. Unbelievable when you consider it is my first camera since I was about 14, which is too many years ago for me to want to do the maths! Schmap even asked to use a photo I took of Nexxt Restaurant in Miami Beach! It is easy to use and feels like a little community so it is worth trying.
