Candice Bergen: I May Be Moody, But I'm Not Sick

Candice Bergen
Frankly, the only clearly safe food now is dark chocolate. I don’t trust anything else. Which makes me a little moody but at least I’m not sick.

Lindt makes great chocolate. I love the dark range of chocolate - right up to 99% dark chocolate. It is delicious. My husband loves the lindt truffles!

Has anybody tried the Starbucks chocolates? Yum! I also love Choxies which are only available at Target. My son and daughter-in-law are very disappointed if they come to visit and I don’t have Choxies in the house!

Well said Candice. Dark chocolate is a treat. No trace of tomatoes in there!

Yes, this is my favorite safe food but I cannot share it with my doggie friends!

We keep a separate supply of food for emergencies, and yes, chocolate is in that supply, rotated for freshness for sure. Chocolate doesn’t keep. We also keep powered cocoa. Lately, my husband has been bringing me chocolate covered strawberries in bed for breakfast, that he has personally hand dipped. He knows how to get to me.

I work at Lindt chocolate! if you want something REALLY dark go for the 85% dark, I adore it! But taste the 99% before you buy it… it’s basically tasteless sand in your mouth.

Chocolate… Made from the cocoa bean… Could be considered as a vegetable… Aren’t we supposed to eat plenty of veggies?!?! ;-) (Where’s my chocolate bar, I mean veggie?!)

Chocolate, I’ll have to take a trip to the kitchen later. I’m lucky enough to live in Belgium, good chocolate all around.

I have allergy to beef and its by-products including milk so I don’t eat it. Although I’m not a vegetarian, I seldom eat meat, prefering to eat vegies and fish. Chocolate is another thing entirely.

Today anything can make you sick, even the medicine that is supposed to make you well! I have several friends that have had allergic reactions to different types of antibiotics and has nearly killed them. One must be careful and prudent when choosing foods and medicine. And above all, don’t believe everything you read because money is a great motivator to big companies and people alike. If they can sell something for a buck they will cover the dangers—in my opinion.

I don’t believe that ALL meat is infected, but I do belive enough of it is for me to not take any chances. I just received this link today from a Mum in the UK who’s 24 year old son died of CJD in 2007 - http://www.justice4andy.com/20.html Very sad. I’m glad to see she’s fighting back and bringing awareness…scroll down to watch her video…what a Mum!
