Caroline Kennedy Talks to Gov. Paterson About Taking Hillary's Seat

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

New York Gov. David Paterson has to decide who will take soon-to-be Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat. Who does Paterson call? None other than … wOw’s gal Caroline Kennedy. ABC News reports that Gov. Paterson talked to Caroline Kennedy about the possible move:

A Democrat who would know tells ABC News that New York Gov. David Paterson has talked to Caroline Kennedy about taking the seat, which was once held by her uncle, Robert F. Kennedy. It’s not exactly shocking that Paterson would reach out to one of the most highly respected public figures in New York, but this is: Sources say Kennedy is considering it, and has not ruled out coming to Washington to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate.

We see why "Kennedy is considering it." Given Kennedy’s family legacy and their political clout — and all the tragedies she has endured — Caroline has a lot to think about. Is she reluctant to step into Clinton’s shoes? Recently, the famously private Kennedy propelled herself into the public eye as she campaigned for Barack Obama. She handled herself beautifully during these times, and we think she’ll be as great a senator as her uncle Ted.

Whoever Gov. Paterson chooses will have to run in a special election in 2010 to finish out the last two years of Clinton’s term. Kennedy has been a favorite to fill that seat and there have been reports that Kennedy is definitely "in the mix." It helps that Paterson is said to be favoring either a woman or a non-white candidate for the post.

Another dame two women’s groups want to see in Clinton’s senate seat is Rep. Carolyn Maloney.

Marjorie Yes a lot of fun. I am watching the “Game” unfolding with great interest, and reading a book called”The Book of Changes and the Unchanging Truth”( no joke). I miss Okpulot, she was the most interesting talent here. Have you heard anything about her? Business as usual is so boring!

She was fun in an outrageous and silly way. There is a message from her on another string dated 12-01 which says in part: Marjorie, Elaine, my other friends too numerous to mention, I must say my goodbyes. I am now banished from WoW for whatever reason. My presumption is the women who created this website are intolerant of American Indians. Don’t know what that’s all about considering what others have posted on this site. I’ve been on vacation, so I’m not sure what might have happened or not happened. Could be just Okpulot being Okpulot.

Amazing, the guy’s not even in office and already he’s not doing enough for some people. And just how exactly, Barney, is he “going to remedy that situation”? Kick W out of the White House tomorrow and take the reins? I don’t get the impression that Obama expects any honeymoon at all, but he doesn’t have the power to do much except behave like a leader at this point. Bush isn’t exactly stepping up to the plate in this regard, and he IS the President. Not that this surprises me, he was/is such a poor Chief Executive. Why should he do the right thing for the country now? I’ve been reading parallels between this hand-off and that of Hoover to FDR during the Depression. At this point, pres.-elect FDR had not named a single cabinet member, and just like W is today, Hoover was keeping his comments short while the bread lines got long. I can understand why some of you would love to see Obama stumble so they could say I-told-you-so. But under the current circumstances, it’d be cutting off your nose to spite your face. I’m a huge cynic, but I’m holding off on my critiques until at least Jan. 20.

Marjorie: Speaking of Barney Frank. He is the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, which oversees housing and banking industries. We all know the reason our economic crisis started with home loans given to people that couldn’t afford them. Barney Frank said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were solid companies. We know these companies are responsible for the millions of foreclosures in the country. Franklin Raines of Fannie Mae made a personal fortune of 90 million dollars in four years while CEO. He was the largest contributor of money to Obama. Herb Moses was an executive at Fannie Mae. He developed many of their housing and lending programs. Barney Frank and Moses were gay boyfriends. Conflict of interest? Barney Frank should accept some responsibility for this mess before looking at remedies he helped start. Was Bush at fault? Absolutely. Everybody in politics was lining their pockets.

NO FRANK. We do NOT “know the reason our economic crisis started was with home loans given to people that couldn’t afford them”! The economic crisis started when the BUSH Administration decided to LOOK THE OTHER way while all these businesses broke the laws that have been on the books thru all the other presidents, who DID enforce them—as they are bound BY LAW to do! Do you think rating agencies gave triple A status to junk by accident? That investors would allow loans to be made with their money TO PEOPLE WHO OBVIOUSLY CAN’T PAY? That appraisers lied & overstated the value of these homes? Are we to believe there are no laws in place that—if enforced—would have prevented this meltdown? NO. The Bush Administration let it be known they would not enforce the laws—so it was a field day for fraud. How stupid do you think we are? I hate shills because they get paid to lie & spread propaganda to cover crimes against the People.

Char: Try to think straight for once. Don’t you see the economic breakdown started when homes were foreclosing at a staggering rate? Even Suze Orman predicted the lending practices for homes would have a big effect on our economy. Bush should’ve done something about it, he didn’t. The Democratic Congress should’ve done something about it, they didn’t. I know you want Bush to the cause for everything, he’s not. Look to the left.
