Celebs and Massage Chairs Icing at Consumer Electronics Show (Video)

By Molly Wood

Editor’s Note: Molly Wood is an executive editor and on-camera personality at CNETTV.com. Molly hosts the weekly Buzz Report video blog, a sort of "Daily Show" for tech news, and co-hosts the hilarious "Gadgettes" podcast, which proves that girls can (and should!) be geeks, too.

I hope you’ll all forgive my long absence from this site! Immediately after our long holiday break, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas hits like a tornado, sweeping up most of the CNET staff in its path and spitting us out the other side. We were a bit bruised, battered and exhausted, but it was well worth the trip!

This trade show literally takes up acres of Las Vegas, from the entire three-building Las Vegas Convention Center to the Sands Expo Center in the Venetian to the many companies who host demonstrations and parties in suites and restaurants across the city. Some 140,000 people usually attend. There are flashing lights, gigantic televisions, the promise of future technologies ranging from holograms to artificially intelligent robots … and then there’s me, running around like an ant trying to find interesting technology, attending awards shows and interviewing whatever celebrities come my way.

Here, then, is the Buzz Report CES 2009 Edition. I hope it gives you a little taste of the madness!

Wood can still put together a good show even with the small Consumer Electronic expo.
