Chelsea Clinton, Commander in Chief?

Candice Bergen
Caroline Kennedy. Not a chance. I agree with Joan on this. She is admirably free of all that is required for a politician and one of the most retiring, authentic, private of people. Against all odds. Chelsea Clinton, however, seems to be a great prediction. She handles herself beautifully on the podium and has grown tremendously during her mother’s campaign. She has the right stuff and might go far if she wants to.

I’m just worried that our best and brightest are smart enough not to put themselves through the mud wrestle of political life in America. Why would they bother?

I think that Chelsea has the temperment more than Caroline Kennedy to enter high power politics. Caroline Kennedy learned the hard way to protect her privacy. I do think she will always be involved somehow, either in diplomacy, the Arts or a mover and a shaker in the background.

Chelsea Clinton, perhaps, could be the first woman U.S. president, if she chooses to head in that direction.

I’m betting Nancy Pelosi will be the first woman POTUS.

I remmebar when I was young I always wanted to become President. Now I would not take that job if the world offered to pay me a million dollars. Poor Chelsea, what pressure we are putting on her. This race has not even been decided lets concentrate on what is right now. thank-You Carol Mulvey

I always thought Caroline looked like her father’s side of the family. But the picture here show her mother’s features more than I ever saw before now . I don’t see either Caroline or Chelsea being in the forefront. I see them as influencing many, over the years, with the wisdom they have/are obtaining because of the families in which they were born.

I could see Chelsea Clinton in the spot a bit more than Caroline Kennedy, although Chelsea seems very private and introverted too. But both women have plenty of reasons to steer clear of going down that road.
