If You Threw a Shoe, Which Would You Choose? wOw Weighs In ...

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoe at President Bush this week chose an understated black dress shoe.

If he had been a fabulous wOw woman, we’re thinking she would have chosen something with more flair, like this lovely Christian Louboutin Petal Sandal stiletto. While we don’t condone such behavior, this shoe seems hypothetically perfect. And here’s why:

1. The vibrant pink hue and crepe "petals" would look simply lovely flying through the air – like a fantastical dove. Or, as the case may be, hawk.

2. Louboutin’s signature red sole would provide ample warning for the intended target, which is only fair.

3. The ruffled satin would soften the blow. A bit of comfort never hurt!

4. And let’s not forget that stiletto heel … a surefire way to garner the attention of the target.

At first I laughed at the idea, imagining tens of thousands of used shoes arriving at the White House. But what good would it do? Whether he’s understand what he’s done or not, it is up to the law to prosecute him—as well as the representatives from the House and Congress who were complicit in his foul deeds. And if the powers that (will) be decide not to go that route, then all that’s left is to make sure nothing like what his administration has done (and not done) will ever happen again in this country or in this country’s name. So much of it, so shameful. I don’t know. Maybe that shoes thing is a good idea—a world-class (literally) joke.

Meant “whether he’s understood what he’s done or not” — I keep wondering if he is too dim to really understand …

Instead of all this nonsense about sending or throwing your shoes at Bush, why not make something positivie out of it. Organize a group to send new shoes to the people of Iraq. Sort of a Shoe Marshall Plan for those in need. Matter of fact… there’s a whole lot of people in the USA who need a pair of shoes right now. I heard this morning about 40 homeless people in Laguna Beach who were shivering in the rain and cold yesterday… waiting for the library doors to open so they could come in to get warm. My friend went to the Chamber of Commerce and asked about opening some vacant buildings so the people could get out of the rain but no luck there. What kind of country have we become when we spend time venting our anger about Bush but are indifferent to the less fortunate in our midst??????? God help us.

I totally agree with you - every person should be allowed their dignity. Maybe with a new administration with a message of change and hope we will see people taking action to really help.

Char - That’s the second great Christmas present idea I’ve gotten from this site, the first being the donation to Planned Parenthood in the name of Sarah Palin. Now, what’s the perfect gift for all the greedy schmucks on Wall Street? Not to worry, they can afford to buy anything they want, I guess.

Great one, Char! If I threw a shoe at Bush….it would be the proverbial ‘cement shoes’ a la the mob that you wear to take your last dive to the bottom of the sea to sleep with the fishes for evah. The First Mobster deserves nothing less.

Having raised horses, I have a pair of barn boots called muck boots, muck meaning, well… you know. Not only would they be big and heavy to throw, but the lingering refuse and aroma from them.. I think he’d get THAT message. Then again…

When I first saw the fact that you raised horses, Dee T, I thought that you were going to say you would throw a horse shoe at him! LOL

That’s a good idea, Sandbee- didn’t think of that! As hard headed as that man is, do you think it would make a dent?

I’d throw the left one. It’s bigger than the right (a whole size - I’m a freak, I know!).

rocky rocky It is up to us (the people) to get the message of the legislature not prosecuting him for breaking the laws of the land. It is time to throw out the people who have made this decision amongst themselves and vote (amongst OURSELVES) for change we can believe in. That will take a lot more than changing the president, as you will see in the coming months. It is an unfavorable position to take on this website but everything I am seeing points to more of the same people playing the same games and wasting our tax money on the same strategies. Subtle differences perhaps but certainly not “a whole new direction for our country”.
