Condi Gushes Over 'Terrific' Clinton, Says Americans 'Wise' to Seek Change (Video)

Condoleezza Rice has nothing but love for Hillary Clinton. Appearing on ABC’s "This Week" on Sunday, outgoing Secretary of State Rice offered nothing but the best reviews for Clinton, who will fill Rice’s diplomatic shoes, should the Senate give her a green light.
Praising President-elect Obama’s Clinton pick, Rice gushed all about how the former First Lady’s just "terrific." And so is Obama’s decision. And, really, just about everything else about the situation: “I’ve known her for a long time," explained Ms. Rice, “ever since she brought her freshman daughter to Stanford, when I was provost at Stanford. I think she’s going to be terrific.” She went on:
President-elect Obama has made his choice, and he’s made a terrific choice. Hillary Clinton is somebody of intelligence, and she’ll do a great job.
She also has what’s most important to being secretary of state, and that is that you love this country, and you represent it from a basis of faith in its values. And I know that she will do that.
I’ve watched her — I watched her do it at the conference in Beijing on women. I know that she was someone who felt strongly about the Balkans and the need to stop that terrible killing there.
So, from that point of view, she’s going to be great.
Rice also spent some time with Fox News on Sunday and admitted that while she wishes the Iraq War had gone down differently, she insists removing Hussein was the right move. "I would give anything to be able to go back and to know precisely what we were going to find when we were there. But that isn’t the way that these things work," she lamented before continuing, "and I still believe that the overthrow of Saddam Hussein is going to turn out to be a great strategic achievement.
Rice may think that’s true, but she’s not necessarily as enthusiastic about her boss, George W. Bush. Of the outgoing president, Rice told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer this weekend that "… Eight years is a long time. The American people are wise in wanting change. Two terms is plenty." Here’s the video of that little remark:
