Cynthia McKinney, Others, Turned Back From Gaza Mission

Cynthia McKinney loves a good challenge.

The forrmer congresswoman, who this year ran for president on the Green Party ticket, attempted to sway Barack Obama and the world yesterday when she and 16 others attempted to deliver medical supplies to the Gaza Strip, which Israel has been attacking for the past four days. The activists, organized by Free Gaza Group, announced their trip a few days ago, but were turned back yesterday by an Israeli military boat. Fox News provides the adventurous details:

… McKinney, unimpeded by the "closed military zone" imposed by Israel, was among 16 people aboard a medical supply boat that collided with an Israeli naval ship Tuesday as it tried to enter coastal waters around Gaza.

The yacht, owned by the U.S.-based Free Gaza Movement, was reportedly carrying 3.5 tons of medical supplies donated by Cyprus. A press release from the group claimed "several Israeli gunboats intercepted the Dignity; she was heading on a mission of mercy to Gaza." They said the Israeli military fired machine guns into the water in an attempt to stop the Dignity’s progress.

Israeli officials admitted "physical contact" with the boat, but say they only took such measures after the yacht failed to heed its radio warnings. McKinney and the others were then sent on their way back to Lebanon, from whence it came. They will reportedly make another attempt.

What nasty & vile things to attack me with, Catherine.- -I’m an “anti-semite” because you don’t like my opinion nor my facts—the ones that wowowow didn’t delete so far. The Jews have been using that very attack— of calling people “anti-semite” to silence any criticism of their actions— ever since the Holocaust, & in the opinion of the world & even some Jewish commentors themselves I must add—-(or else wowowow will not believe it isn’t just me saying it), they have worn that card out. Jewish commentors have said that first—I heard it from them, wowowow—are you going to delete every thing I say that YOU people don’t like too? I guess so.. It does not mean people hate Jews just because they hate what some of them have done.

Nasty and vile Char? Perhaps you should re-read some of your posts. I would not have said I felt you were an anti semite, had you expressed your opinion without some of the hateful things you have said. You sit and post that Jews are trying to inflict their sickness on the entire world, you sit and post that the Jews are trying to force their beliefs on the entire world. You talk about rich Jews, and some conspiracy that they are trying to control the world. You are an anti semite Char. You called me a “knotted head, dishonest wife of a Zionist Jew”, no matter that my husband is a unorthodox Jew. You used those words only after I informed you that my husband is a Jew. Yes Char I do feel you are an anti semite, and obviously I am not the only one to think so. Please tell me Char, what other country would sit and allow rockets to fall on them, thousands of rockets, and not take action? The United States? China? Canada? The EU? Had the rockets not been fired, Israel would not now be taking action inside Gaza.

Catherine, as of Dec 27th—Amnesty Internatoinal has reported that FOUR Israelis ae dead & FOUR HUNDRED Palestinians are dead with TWO THOUSAND wounded—with very little medical care available to them. Ah—you bring up the subject of Hamas. If it were not for the misguided policies of Israel & the US, Hamas would not be in control in the first place. The US, in cahoots with Israel, bears much of the blame for the ongoing bloodshed in the Gaza Strip. One of the major boosts for Hamas came when the Israeli govt expelled more than 400 Palestinian Muslims in late 1992. While most of the exiled were associated with Hamas-affiliated social service agencies, very few had been accused of any violent crimes. Since such expulsions are against international law, the UN Security Council unanimously condemned the actions & called for their immediate return. The incoming Clinton Administration however, blocked the UN from enforcing its resolution & falsely claimed that an Israeli offer to eventually allow some exiles back constituted a fulfillment of the mandate. The result of the Israeli & American actions was that the exiles became heroes & martyrs & the credibility of Hamas in the eyes of Palestinians grew enormously & so did its political strength.

They don’t want to be snipered while attending a funeral of a loved one. I’ve read a lot about this subject Catherine. And it IS unfortunate—for the rest of the world—that they insist on this insane fighting & continue to inflict their sickness on us—over ALL these years! Many Jewish groups are also ashamed & want it to stop. But the leaders of Israel & the members of AIPAC here in America—refuse. It’s like Bush invading countries against the wishes of Americans. Char, what sickness is Israel trying to inflict upon you? What religious belief are they trying to force upon you? If Hamas would stop launching rockets into Israeli villages targetting innocent civillians, then Israel wouldn’t need to take military action inside of Gaza. Hamas is incapable of sticking to a ceasefire, they have proven that time and time again. Launching rockets into Israel isn’t going to do anything to better their way of life. Israel is surrounded by hostile enemies, they are constantly under threat, they face terrorism everyday. Many innocent Israeli’s have been brutally murdered in various terrorist attacks, including children. I wonder why that doesn’t bother you. I wonder why you don’t denounce the violence of Hamas, which started a week before Israel even retaliated. My husband is of Jewish decent, he has many Muslim/Arab friends who think Hamas is doing a great injustice to the Palestinian people. You have even gone so far as to excuse Hamas for being too poor to buy “guided missles”, well I for one thank God for that, because then I’m sure even more innocent Israelis would be slaughtered by these terrorists, who have made it clear their sole purpose is to kill as many Jews as possible.

Catherine, why is it that you refuse to go look up what the Jewish groups themselves, who oppose what Israel is doing have to say about it? The “sickness” is this mad insistance on Zionists getting their own way—simply because their religious beliefs told them they would get their “Promised Land” one day? They are now & have been since 1948—going about causing untold hell for the ENTIRE WORLD—all because they INSIST it WILL be THEIR way—an Israel of only Jews! They have refused to share Israel with muslims FROM the GIT GO I researched this entire subject 2 yrs ago—going all the way back to Israel’s OWN records of their OWN military operations—a few days BEFORE the UN’s decision—-& they had 8 operations attacking muslim cities already planned & underway. Yet Zionist Jews always insist the aggression is coming from the other side to cover for their nefarious actions! THat is just not true. There are ALL KINDS of documents & quotes & facts that show this to be true—-IF ANYONE EVER BOTHERED TO LOOK. Muslims are correct to believe that they will never be safe or rest until Israel is stopped.
