Did Sarah Palin Blow Off Oprah?

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Oprah Winfrey would like everyone to know she never wrote Sarah Palin off as a guest on her show.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over," Winfrey told Extra. "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to [Fox News’s] Greta Van Susteren. She talked to [NBC’s] Matt Lauer. She talked to [CNN’s] Larry King, but she didn’t talk to me. But maybe she’ll talk to me now that she has a book deal."

It’s true that the Alaska governor has been all over television since John McCain lost the presidential election to Barack Obama. Winfrey caused a bit of a ruckus about the blogosphere in September when she said she wouldn’t have the then-GOP-vice-presidential candidate on her show until after the election.

The talk-show queen announced her stanch support for Obama early on in the White House race. Apparently, having Palin on before the November 4 election would have been considered a slight to Obama in Winfrey’s mind.

"Oprah’s website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama,” an insider told The Drudge Report in September.

Oprah then said in a statement: "At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates."

So we wonder: What will it take to get Palin on the show? We’re thinking that would be one awkward interview …

Perhaps the hockey mom would be willing to make an appearance to tout her forthcoming book, which we’ve heard could be worth about $7 million.

Sounds like much media hype about nothing…no one is interested in Sarah Palin’s shameless self promotion…wake me up when she actually does something like learn to speak.

I’m the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can’t.’” —Sarah Palin, as quoted by former City Council Member Nick Carney, after he raised objections about the $50,000 she spent renovating the mayor’s office without approval of the city council Stupid is correct.

People, we are having a crisis in our economy. If we don’t get serious and start making an effort to think about what our part is in this crisis, we are all going down the tubes. So, bottom line, I couldn’t care less that Sarah blew off Oprah, that she took advantage of the stylists and is still wearing some of the RNC clothes, that she is a self promoting publicity hound. She needs to go back and learn how to be a governor instead of running around in the lower ‘48 constantly. Sarah go home;’nuf said.

I agree Diana, from what I understand the drop in oil prices is hurting her state, she needs to stay home to work on her budget if she knows how when the money isn’t coming in like it was.

Well Diane, it’s the ilks like you who continue to hound her everywhere she goes - be it in the Senate or a conference with Obama the Messiah. Whatever she does, no one it seems couldn’t have enough of her. And she doesn’t need to do anything - all the cameras are focused on her. You are bitching or envious because of her stature.
