Alias…hee, hee. For all of the civil rights & Constitutional abuses with the wiretapping, bin Laden’s still running around, al-Qaeda’s going great guns (!) in Afghanistan, and the Taliban’s tearing it up in Pakistan. I agree with Obama’s decision, though, to support telecom companies receiving legal immunity for participating in the wiretapping program. This is a new, high-tech era of terrorism, but stomping on civil rights can also be a slippery slope for a future president to run roughshod over the Constitution.

What I’m thinking about doing is putting on some sort of shoes and a jacket and going out and down the lane to wake up the fat lady who lives in the trailer and demanding that she sing…….”Please, Evelyn, I need to go to sleep”…..

Countrywoman — Are you watching the election results? How do you think the northwest will do?

Oregon, Wash, CA I think will all go for Obama and think that’s about 77 EV….which will put him over although the McCain camp is saying they aren’t conceeding some of the calls. Just watch him draw this out….when it’s impossible for him to win at this point. Can’t wait to hear what Obama will say.

207 vs 138 with all the most west states & FL, VA ….MSNBC GOP pundit saying it looks like Obama…20 minutes to next polls close.

Michigan’s voting 56% for Obama, 43% for McCain, with 35% of precincts reporting. Proposal 1 for medical marijuana is winning by a landslide, while the stem-cell research proposal 2, is winning 52% to 48%…very close. Long-time incumbent Sen. Carl Levin is winning handily. CNN projects that the U.S. Senate might garner only 58 seats, not the fillibuster-proof 60/40 majority they were hoping for.

Do you see those totals? 32 million for Ob; 30 million for Mc. Over 60 million voters and still counting. What a country!

Just got back from a quick coffee break with some friends, and just about fell over when I turned on CNN. Things are certainly looking a whole lot different now! My husband just told me not to allow myself to get too excited just yet, so I’m going to go soothe my nerves with a tall Crown and coke.

We are enjoying champagne and praying that we didn’t open the bottle too soon. My friends have to go home so we just HAD to open it.

The young people apparently weren’t voting much in 1972, because, based on everything we saw with war protests and stuff, one would think that would’ve been a much tighter race! McCain has just conceded graciously to Obama.
