Hey, Susanne, I’m so excited! I’ve been on the road, and am here in N.VA visiting my sister. We will be in DC most of the time; the atmosphere is so different from when I was here a few months ago. My brother-in-law is on business in Indonesia, and said the place went crazy when the electorial went over 270. As you know by now, the French…indeed all of Europe are soooo relieved at the outcome of this election. I think it is going to be a very different white house from what we have become used to. It will now be serious and focused, probably as much as at any time in the past few decades. And, I am so happy he chose Rahm Emmanuel for Chief of Staff; the man runs a tight ship, is very well organized and does not suffer fools gladly. We are going to have so much to be talking about before January. What is the status of your book?

They just announced on my local news, that while voting is hitting record numbers everywhere, voting is actually DOWN in Orange County. A Republican stronghold of California.

Arianna Huffington is already saying President-Elect Obama….Oprah has already bought her dress for the presidential balls….7 min when the west states close and projections come in….it’s over. And on all stations they are saying their final prayers over McCain’s campaign and shoveling the dirt, laying on the lilies. Shell Beach has NO restaurants (I’m here on a visit)…we got take-out Chinese that was yuck….so dinner was mostly champagne. Obama 207 McCain 142. CA and HA will put him over. America just keeps reinventing itself. Isn’t that great!!!

Obama just won the battleground state of Virginia, if projections can be believed. I think he may garner as many as 340 electoral votes

CNN declared Obama winner. I still wish it was McCain, but it is truly thrilling to watch the African Americans in the crowds celebrating. They are incredulous. How wonderful for them. A major C change in that respect.

They’re all calling Obama the president-elect…it’s a sure thing! Hopefully, this is a transformationally positive moment in the history of this country, when it’s at one of its lowest points in decades. Whether Republican or Democrat or Independent, or another party, this can be a positive for everyone, if Obama can extend the traditional honeymoon period beyond a few months in office. Cheers, God bless America.
