I used to do campaign work, & am still fascinated by the whole process (though I do wish it were shorter). Tomorrow, I’m going to vote, see my hairdresser, then shop for election food (i.e. chocolate). I’ll be up most/all of the night, with the remote in hand, watching election results.

Linda P - Wonderful definition. How are you doing? Have that test yet? I’ve been hoping all is well.

Claptrap - mid 18th century noun, absurd or nonsensical talk or ideas. What astrology is for sure, and what, in my opinion, religion is. But, hey, if it floats your boat, go for it, but realize it is just YOUR truth.

My dear fellow Nutmegger: Your words are like cool water splashed on me after enduring an insufferable amount of hot air. I would love to have a cup of tea, with you, with cat, amidst the sane serenity.

I just wanted to say to all the ladies at wow that i will be so glued to the tv tonight i will not be on this forum. And I wanted to say… I wish my mom were here to see this!!! My husband and i got in an entire discussion last night about his parents and specficially his dad. both are “scared” of obama. his dad especially is truely a bigot. there’s no other way to put it. He said it was because of their “age” and I begged to differ. I told him about all the women on this site who are his parents age who are not afraid. and who are not bigoted. He then said that it was from their back east upbringing… so then I had to tell him about all of the women on here from back east! I said… sorry darlin they just are what they are because the ARE. not because of their age.

What an enormous opportunity for everyone to heal their fears and pre-judgments of others. The fact that he/you had a chance to openly discuss this is a big step. I think the younger generation have grown up with a much more blended world. Obama is the potential leader of the next generation. He is an old guy to those voting for the first time. lol Changing paradigms is hard for those who remember vividly the struggles and violence of the Civil rights movement, and being taught fear by their parents and by the press at that time.

As a “back easter”, thank you. My husband and I had the same discussion last night, his mom died one year ago today, age 86. We came to the conclusion that his dad, who died 10 tears ago would NEVER vote for Obama, but his Mom MIGHT have….. probably because I would have talked her into it. It really is a generational thing. That is why I was hoping for bad weather today…. would have kept all the old white people away… oops, that wasn’t nice.

Josie, Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will stop on my home from work and buy a bottle. It is only 4:24 in NM. I will be glued to MSNBC to watch Rachel Maddow. I don’t like the two guys - Chris Matthews and Keith Oberman.
