Hasselbeck 'Really Upset' With 'The View'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Rumor has it that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is “really upset” about the recent political discussions taking place on “The View.”

A longtime “View” staff member told The Chicago Sun-Times: ”It’s not as bad as during the Rosie [O’Donnell] era,” but the presidential election has Hasselbeck, a Republican, “really upset” with her liberal co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. The Sun-Times says show creator and journalist Barbara Walters even  called a ”cooling off” meeting to keep a lid on things.

Hasselbeck — the youngest of “The View” women — has her work cut out for her being the only Republican in the group in as hot a political year as this. You could cut the tension with a knife during the Rosie era. Earlier this month, O’Donnell wrote on her blog:

“Sarah p - elisabeth h identical cousins
women who hunt in high heels
gives one pause”

When she appeared on "The Martha Stewart Show" in April, O’Donnell referred to Hasselbeck as "a little Republican who scared me."

The National Enquirer
has reported that Hasselbeck may even leave “The View” to host her own show on FOX News.

"[She] feels she can’t win at ‘The View,’ but she’s been told by friends at FOX News that they’d find a spot for her without hesitation,” a source told the Enquirer. "They love Elisabeth at FOX — she gets high ratings whenever she appears on the network."

Well Itzdor, maybe you have something there. A new job for E where she would not feel threatened, defensive and made to act like a child throwing a temper tantrum. I’m all for that. Get her off the air. Now!!!!!

The little toot didn’t mind when Barbara let her pitch soft balls to McCain when he was on the show. She’s just ticked because it looks as though people are waking up to the disaster that IS the Republican party. The moderate Republicans have handed over their party to right wing evangelical Christians and big business. Still and all, the election isn’t over yet. McCain/Palin could still pull it out. Wasn’t it Jay Leno who said ‘Now the Democrats will have to work even harder to lose this election?” As far as Elizabeth, well if she goes I can put The View back on my tivo schedule, and Carol L. is absolutely right. Barbara can , most assuredly, find a literate , well-educated, and well-spoken Republican to replace her.

I do appreciate it when Whoopi attempts to keep people from talking over each other. That is one reason I started watching the show again. A year or two ago it was sheer bedlam.

Elisabeth has gone from Bush apologist to McCain/Palin cheerleader without missing a step, never once taking pause to accept responsibility or admit that she has been consistently wrong about everything.

No more View for me until after the election. Sick of hearing the battle. Love you Joy Behar but not during an election year. Love you Whoopi…. but not during an election year. Love you Elizabeth, but only on Larry King where you finally were given a chance to sound like one sharp cookie. Love you Sherri for your naive approach to important matters. Try not to be snowed under by those three strong women. Too bad Britney Spears isn’t up to mischief these days—-might stop all the shouting on the View.

Personally I think the SP bashing on the View is getting old. I’m a 60 year old who has always voted Dem except in ‘88— not sure yet what I am going to do this time. I used to enjoy The View, but Behar is coming across as angry and bitter. Watching the other three gang up on Elizabeth……..and taking pot shots at everything about Palin…..doesn’t make me too inclined to vote for anyone they would espouse.

Stick to your politics, Z****, not the people who try to espouse them. There are negative, pushy snarks on both sides of this election. And fortunately, MOST of them aren’t running for office.

Fine “Z****” is it? If you base who you vote for on the “VIEWTV show then well I dont know what to say. The whole Palin thing begs for ugh “pot shots”.

Please Andromeda, don’t toss me softballs like “pot shots” when we are discussing politics and Obama. And sometimes it’s better when one doesn’t know what to say they keep their mouth shut. Deriding someone’s opinion because it doesn’t mesh with yours does not give insight. We can all get vicious and ugly and toss around insults, that’s fairly easy for most people. I’d like to listen to information on the issues…….and I used to feel the View was fair, but lately in my opinion it has become just another shrill political show. As soon as someone starts making petty snarky remarks about ANY candidate, I start to wonder why the need……….why not stick with the issues or is there no substance to the candidate they are espousing. Whether I agree with Palin or not, I do admire the fact that she seems to walk her talk.

True — but if this is a taste of the “change” Obama is supposed to bring about, I am not impressed.

Z**** Is Obama trying to “change” the View? The View’s ratings probably benefited from all the Palin controversy. Everyone is talking about Palin. I noticed that Palin and Elizabeth use the same zingers and they keep repeating their “facts” whether they are lies or not.

Hi Starry……both sides keep repeating their “facts” whether they are lies are not. Elizabeth and Sara are staying on the Republican talking points. LIke the Dems keep beating the “change” mantra. I am old enough to remember (and vote for) Jimmy Carter the outsider who was going to effect change in Washington…that was a disaster. A couple of years ago I was hired as an outsider to effect change at a public institution…………I know first hand, change is tough to bring in from the outside. I’m undecided and looking for exchange of ideas not people talking over one another and yelling at one another, that’s not something I want to spend my time on or that I have respect for.

If Elisabeth would actually answer a question posed to her, rather that either responding defensively with some unrelated issue or with another question, I would enjoy her more. I think she is an intelligent woman and she should share her opinions and views. But she should get some of her own opinions, not just spout McCain/Republican rhetoric. Then I would take her seriously - for me, she just a cute blonde with dumb ideas.
