Fey: 'I'm Done' if McCain-Palin Wins the White House

Tina Fey says she will be "leaving Earth" if John McCain and Sarah Palin win the presidential election next month.

The "Saturday Night Live" comedienne who now produces and stars in "30 Rock," has come back to her alma mater to play the Republican vice-presidential candidate. She wouldn’t give specifics as to how many more episodes of "SNL" she was going to appear on.

"We’re gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I’m done. I can’t do that for four years. And by ‘I’m done,’ I mean I’m leaving Earth,’" Fey told TVGuide for the October 20 issue.

Fey also said it’s a busy but exciting time for "SNL."

"Election time is always good for [‘SNL’] and this is a bonkers election," she said. "And that lady [Palin] is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she’s very likeable. She’s fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun," Fey says.

Meanwhile, The New York Post reports that some political scientists think that Fey’s "SNL" skewering of Palin is taking its toll on the McCain/Palin ticket.

"Presidential impersonators do influence elections, and in this one, Tina Fey is well on her way to ruining Sarah Palin’s political career," said Jerald Podair, a professor of American Studies at Lawrence University. "In a political culture that takes its cues from popular culture, a good impersonator may be worth a million votes."

A GOOD impersonator doesn’t hurt a GOOD politician, I remember there being a man who did JFK and it didn’t hurt him at all.

Thank you Mugsy, could not remember the name but did remember that he certainly did not ruin Kennedy’s career. I think that depends more on the one you are impersonating than the impersonator.

What I remember is that JFK was amused, as was Mrs. Kennedy. I think they actually invited him to dinner.

Vaughn Meader…what a flash! I think I was in the second grade, or so, when that LP came out. My Mom was a huuuuge fan of Jack and Jackie. I remember getting that album for Christmas from Santa that year. Ha ha ha…Interesting choice for a 7-year-old, St. Nick. I think I asked for Tinker Toys and a Tiny Tears doll, but I get a comedy album. o.O Actually, it was a pretty funny thing for its time. I remember listening to it over and over. I really liked Caroline and her pony, so it appealed to me, as a kid, even though other references were kinda over my head a little bit. Earlier this year, my grown kids and I packed up my dad to move him in with me. When we were going through stuff around the house, for garages sales, et cetera, I ran across The First Family in the old stereo console. I played it for them, and we all had a great laugh. They thought it was really good, even though I had to explain some of the references to them. LOL

If I had the money, I would pay Fey to get off the TV. She’s one of the least talented people I’ve seen in years. Right up there with Paris Hilton. No substance to her acting or her persona.

Eliza Dodd Any relation to “Chris” ? smile I love the idea of your game… however, I don’t think I could handle it. Drinking is not one of my fav things to do, and I’d probably fall over dead - drunk! I don’t trust KR enough to accept that as ‘gospel.’ What about you? Although I believe Obama will win - I won’t believe it until the results are in… there is still too much time from now until Nov. 4th, 2008 - beware the computer gliches, paper ballot whatcha macall its… and, anything else the Repuks can do to rig the election.

Eliza Dodd, I think you will agree with what I’m going to say…………… All candidates are protected by the Secret Service……………… If anyone in a crowd were to yell Kill the President they would immedietly be grabbed, handcuffed and arrested. That’s exactly what they should be doing to these Hate Mongers………… They are threatening the life of a Presidential Candidate……………whether it be Obama or McCain. I think it’s deplorable that this kind of behaviour is allowed. They are becoming a violent MOB………..some one is going to either get hurt badly or killed. The Advisors and leaders of Both Parties should put a stop to this. I’m a Democrat, but in the Past I always admired John McCain………….I’ve lost respect for Senator MCCain if he doesn’t stop Sarah Palin from her Hate spreading……………She’s a danger to our whole Country. Hello Dona we are the laughing stock …I was watching the Olympics and in-between the events the World News was on and Putin and Bush and other World Leaders ..They showed Bush and Putin walking together ….and others …and Bush had a silly looking smirk on his face .They were all walking and the News was following them …and Putin Put His Finger in Bush’s Face and was holding it only about 2 INCHES from his Nose …and Putin was PISSED OFF !!! He was saying something to Bush and was Daring Bush kinda Face he was making and like I said Bush had that WEIRDO look he always has ….like He dont care 1/2 grin 1/2 FEAR look …I could tell Bush was intimindated by Putin …So I had to research what the heck is going on …And NOW I know what Putin said to Bush ..I read everything Dona !
