Text of Whoopi’s comments:

Oh my goodness. So it was brought to my attention that wOw had a happy birthday greeting for me, and all the responses were so cool. So great. You guys, the folks that posted for me and said all those wonderful things about feeling like they were connected because they heard something that made sense to them, or they felt like they were hearing people they cared about talking to them, and hearing the voices of the past, and all of those things kind of threw me for a loop because I’m just sort of here scratching my butt and hoping to help the world somehow. And the fact that you all sent such loving wishes and said such beautiful things, so many of them, I can’t even begin to tell you how great it was that you even cared it was my birthday. I can’t even say, "Thank you." But I’m gonna. That’s why I called in, was to say, "Thank you." I can’t even begin to tell you how it all made me feel. It made me feel like I was the person that my mom hoped that I would grow up to be. Someone who’s a little kooky and a little weird but maybe has something to offer. And what I get from all of you is that you may not agree always but you don’t mind that I have opinions or that I believe in something or that I am the person that I am. Who doesn’t want to be told that they’re OK in the world? And to get such a gorgeous response from you all, it was heaven. It made me very proud and it made my mom really proud because, of course, I told her to read it as well. And she did the mom thing and said, "Don’t let your head get too big because these people don’t actually know how out there you are." But that’s what moms do. So, thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much.

wut they r r… a means of emphasis which I decided to use to point out a word or phrase. The actual method of creating punctuation, and grammar is through usage - so, I useages it! lol If no one else ever picks it up, it will not become a part of our punctuation or grammar. - smile - It’s one of the ways in which I play with the english-american language…

Hi Whoopi, Soak in the love my lady. So, a person can be, just be as they are with all the inside feelings and confusions and fighting for a little bit of a niche……. and also be accepted. Very cool. Maybe we are growing up after all in this whacky world of internet, TV, cell phones and actually are connecting in some new-found wonderful way. Buckminster Fuller would be so pleased. Love your Mom too for her keeping a sense of humor in her outlook. :)

I don’t agree with her too often, but she is really someone who tells it like it is. I really have to admire her for her well informed stands. Unlike some of the Village Idoits on the vIEW, she actually contributes alot. Good going, Whoopi!

Debi: What does she contribute on the View? She is an Obama fanatic that would support him if he hired OJ Simpson as his Attorney General.

Politics aside, she is the only one on that panel who lets the guest SPEAK without incessantly clucking at them and amongst each other. If she disagrees with someone, she does it respectfully. She looks those with whom she disagrees directly in the face when asking questions (unlike the one who is SUPPOSED to be one of the greatest, most professional journalists of all time). She’s also pretty good at remaining objective - always eager to point out more than just the one or two sides to something, asking as many questions as she can in pursuit of clarification, etc. - while the other women are either too far to the left or too far to the right. She adds dignity to the show. Well, assuming that is possible. I don’t understand why you still harp on her being an Obama freak. You’re either a disgruntled McCain freak or an anti-Obama freak…either way, they are both just as extreme. Just because you are on the other end of the spectrum does not make you right. There were just as many relevant, serious reasons as to why MCCAIN should not have been elected, too! We would have been screwed either way, if you ask me, but many of us felt Obama was simply the lesser of the two evils; I highly recommend that you get over it. Please let the guy GET INTO OFFICE and ACTUALLY screw up before you criticize him so freakishly that you harass his supporters on unrelated websites. ;-)

Kryssi: No she doesn’t. If Elizabeth is giving her point of view and Whoopi doesn’t agree, she cuts her off. McCain is not in, lets not talk about him. We only have one person to blame for the oncoming mess, Obama. His new Chief of Staff Rham Emanuel is a kook. While most donors received Cheesecakes as a thank you from Rham, one donor received a rotting fish as he seemingly pissed off Rham-bo. 2) Rham didn’t hide his feelings when he offered Tony Blair counsel just before the then British prime minister appeared with President Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal: “This is important. Don’t —— it up.” 3) The most infamous Rahm-bo story of them all is the one that begins with the dinner the night after Bill Clinton was elected in 1992. Among those present at the dinner table was ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos, who watched while an overwrought and clearly exhausted Emanuel began ranting at a long list of Clinton “enemies.” As he shouted each name, he stabbed the table with his steak knife. His new Attorney General Eric Holder pardoned two murderers from the Weather Underground while working under the Clinton Administration. Weather Underground, where have I heard that before. Open your eyes a bit more.

Sure, I will open my eyes a bit more politically if you open yours a bit more socially (re: GLBT equal rights)! ;-P I’ve never heard of a politician who WASN’T imperfect and/or a little bit insane. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be politicians. Unfortunately. Instead of basing judgments on their idiosyncratic behaviors and mere acquainted associations, could you perhaps offer me less propaganda and more fact that’s relevant to their POLICIES, at least? The Weather Underground crap is tiresome, BTW. Give me NAMES so I go learn for myself whether they were truly murderers or just noble vigilantes or just what exactly, beyond your extremely polarizing generalizations.

And yes, it IS acceptable to discuss McCain when you are harassing people for being Obama supporters, many of whom only voted for him because he seems the lesser of the two evils - the ONLY OTHER CHOICE BEING MCCAIN. You can’t just discard important truths when it’s convenient for you; look at this situation in its whole CONTEXT.

Whoopi! You know, I nearly forgot some of your most provocative heart-wrenching films like: “The Color Purple,” “Corinna, Corinna,” and others like “Jumpin Jack Flash” and others. You have such a rich talent and intelligence. I am so pleased you continue to share so much of your truth and soul. Blessings to you.
