A former "Melrose Place" dynamo has gotten herself in a bit of trouble in Montecito, CA.

Heather Locklear, 47, was arrested Saturday at around five o’clock PM after she was spotted driving erratically in a parking lot in an upscale town 90 miles north of Los Angeles, according to reports. The California Highway Patrol pulled Locklear over after a concerned citizen witnessed the "Dynasty" dame driving forward and backward over a pair of sunglasses and revving her engine, reports E! News.

The witness then spotted Locklear leaving the parking lot and hitting the road, reports E! News, and that’s when the witness called 9-1-1. A CHP officer reportedly found Locklear in her car alone. The car was parked on a state highway and partially blocking the road in Montecito, reports the Associated Press. According to the AP, the CHP said in a statement the star looked "disoriented" and was taken to a local CHP station for drug and alcohol tests. Drug recognition experts concluded that Locklear "was under the influence of a controlled substance, and could not safely operate a motor vehicle."

She was released Saturday night without having to post bail, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Besides "Melrose Place" and "Dynasty," some of Locklear’s other noted small-screen roles include "T.J. Hooker" and "Spin City."

Locklear’s divorce to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora in 2006 sparked a media frenzy — especially when Locklear’s husband of 11 years started dating her best friend, Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Denise Richards. Sambora and Locklear have a daughter named Ava Elizabeth. In June, Locklear sought treatment for anxiety and depression at a medical clinic.

Why O why O why O why don’t these celebrities hire a driver when they go out on the town? Or for goodness sake, at least call a cab, or your publicist or someone. I have very little sympathy for those with above average means who get popped for DUI.

Anyone who has ever driven around Montecito will tell you that the roads in that area are very confusing. I hope Locklear is all right, but she could just have been lost. I have been lost there with a map and without a map. Luckily there are usually good places in the area to stop and get something to eat while you call someone to help you figure out where you are. This time of year, I would guess she was taking allergy medication.

The woman is obviously having some issues. and what I say is “there but for the grace of God go I”… AND I don’t have to have any of my “issues” reported in the news!

Its a mystery to me why people drink and drive. The cost of a cab is SO much less than the cost of a DUI. I won’t even have ONE drink and get behind the wheel of a car. I have friends who routinely stop on the way home from work, have a few drinks at happy hour, then go pick up their kids!! As for the celebrity thing…I’m with the other posters…”You’ve got the money…hire a freakin driver already!”
