I loved this show. It was a time when there was peace and love in the family unit. People seemed to care for others and had manners. Each show presented a opportunity for lessons of value to be learned and a way for others to see the importance of the family and the necessity for family values. I know not all families at this time were the epitome of the Nelsons, but they did give others hope.

Ah, yes! Back when the middle class American family was a stable economic unit. “Once upon a time the world was sweeter than we knew… Everything was ours. How happy we were then…”

Enjoyed watching this––especially Ricky’s musical piece which has a nostalgic tug ––I remember not really taking to the Nelsons at the time––something about being too white-washed––something about lacking depth. Now I watch it with amusement and can appreciate it for what it was. Dee––love that song–––talk about nostalgia!

Thank you for the nostalgia. I remember listening to them on the radio and how excited I was when they transitioned to the TV. Black & white, and Ricky would have been about 11 at that time. Bring on more nostalgia, wow! At this particular time, we need it….please…
