That was Lovely!!!! Thank you! I loved seeing Jimmy Carter in there for a millisecond which kind of relates to how quickly his term went by but not at all indicative of his impact.

Can’t help it, every time I hear that song it reminds me of singing it in grade school assembly, the gold fringe sparkling on the flag being carried in, the care not to let it touch the ground. Just now, as always, seeing a picture of the Towers does me in—I cannot help but get weepy. I knew folks there. It is haunting. But it has nothing to do with this war. God Bless America. And bring our soldiers home.

I visited Ground Zero in 2002, and got a far-away glimpse of the Statue on a ferry ride from N.Y. over to Staten Island. I hope Obama can capture bin Laden.

God bless America!!!! When I was young, my dad would bring home sparklers. When evening came, my dad would light one and I would twirl it around. We watch the neighbors launch their rockets. How beautiful. (of course this is all illegal now).

Carol L - I hope I have not driven you away from wOw. That Anne Coulter discussion was for the birds. I am following Josie’s advice and staying away from it. She also said something I agree with; I wish there was a delete button so that we could just go back and delete some of our previous comments; or, at least do what they do in Congress “revise and extend our remarks”. However, I do like your comments and your compassion. I join the chorus and hope you will stay. Bonnie

bonnie, you gave your facts and reasons. carol l has nothing against you. i wrote to the founders of the site to do something about what i called “contemptuous spam.” a huge number of such comments would wreck our community. you have encouraged me to read the contents of the arguments and not just pass them by. coulter is a flame thrower who has no place in civilized discourse.
