HerTube: Randy Pausch (1960 - 2008)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
Professor Randy Pausch touched millions of people with the inspirational Last Lecture he presented at Carnegie Mellon University last September. The lecture, titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," landed on YouTube and became an Internet hit. Sadly, Randy’s fight against pancreatic cancer came to an end Friday when he passed away at his home in Virginia, surrounded by his wife, Jai, and their three children. In memory of Randy Pausch, here is his Last Lecture.

What a remarkable man. (sigh.) Meanwhile, to change the subject just for one moment, I have not been on the site for a while….and wonder where “Mugsy Peabody” went? I always enjoyed her comments and don’t see her here much.

Hi Linda, I believe Mugsy last wrote under the July 24th post re: John Edwards ALLEGED love affair. You can key in a contributor’s name on the Search bar in the upper right, for future ref.

Randy was such an inspiration !I bought his book after the story about him on TV. I thought that if anyone could beat the odds against him, he could. I am very sad for his family, I’m sure he made the most of the time he had left, they will treasure the memories of him !

Not since Viktor Frankl has someone so inspired me. Professor Pausch was a genius in many ways, but mostly about life. His passing is great a loss. How very fortunate for us that he left us with all the secrets, simple as they are, to a wonderful life.

Did anyone see the special last night on Dateline? It was about Randy and gave more interview coverage of him. I was touched by his grace and strength. It gives me courage to face my own mortality. Non of us will get out of this world alive and hopefully Randy gave all of us something to think about with our very limited time here. Have a fearless day!

Yes, Josie, I watched. Most especially loved, the “I’ll get back to you on that.” to his friend. How blessed are we, that this man shared his love for his life. His light lives on in more than just his children. We each carry the spark.
