I love autumn and I LOVE football. But, Earth, Wind and Fire? Something akin to adoration. Miss Kitty was dancin’ (and Mr Kitty was shaking his head). Thanks so much for that treat.

Oh YES !! Earth Wind & Fire - one of my top 5 concerts of all time. I saw them in 1981 when i was 9 months pregnant with my 3rd son, so I guess that was his “first” concert. None of us are surprised that he turned out to be an amazing musician, and is in fact, touring right now with an Afrobeat band. I was just out and passed all the kids coming home from their first day of school…. a very melancholy time. As a child , I remember the first day of school with dread, excitement, anticipation and sadness that summer was over… as a former teacher I remember the first day with dread, excitement, anticipation and sadness that summer was over… as a parent I remember that day with dread, excitement, anticipation and joy that summer was finally over…. and now,as an empty nester, I see that day as a reminder of all those past emotions but mostly sadness, with the realization that those times are over. The only saving grace is the beautiful, clear blue skies of September, warm days, cool nights, and in the trees just a hint of the glorious color to come in our magnificent New England Autumn. In my house, in particular, it also means the hope of fall baseball and the reality that the Red Sox will win again… or break our hearts, once again.
