The first 3 minutes and 49 seconds of this video is agonizing! Being a momma’ and a bit of a mad cow myself I will do whatever it takes to protect my little M. Let this footage be a warning to the ones that prey on the young the and weak! GREAT POST and an even greater overall message!

It’s hard to understand that animals, unlike humans, have no choice, it’s all stimulus-response, and instinct. And to pedophiles I say: Hands Off Our Kids.

Fantastic video! Instinct or not what an amazing message. Aesop style. The power in numbers. They rescued the young one by uniting and then scared the lions away. And without bombs or heavily artillery. Hmmmm….

Wonderful video! Mother Nature certainly can give us many eye-openers. It’s more than just the power-in-numbers aspect that impresses me. I’m amazed the the entire herd of buffalo took the initiative to save one young life. As a nation, I think we’re all too willing to look the other way when other people’s kids are in danger. Or after they’ve followed their parents into the danger zone, we employ “tough love” when the hammer comes down on them.

Saw this on Utube several weeks ago. Very glad to hear that National Geographic did finally buy it—not the first time it was offered, I understand, but several years later, after it got something like a quadrillion hits on Utube. The rumor is that NG is developing an hour special based on the video. I first viewed this video soon after seeing a news clip of a meat processing center that treated cattle horribly. The buffalo-vs-lions video sort of felt bitter sweet — after seeing the dying and mistreated cattle, it was glorious to see what their noble and ferocious ancestors must have been like.

This would be an excellent leadership training video!
