There she is - gorgeous, smart and sexy. A true winner. Good to see she survived the craziness and went on to fulfill her dreams.

And the crown fits! Years ago I fiddled aroung with writing a rock opera version of Antony and Cleopatra called “Tony and the Cobra.” I always had Vanessa Williams in mind when I wrote for Cleopatra. According Plutarch, Cleopatra was nearly forty when she did herself in, so it seemed like way to portray Cleopatra with the maturity and wisdom of a real queen…as opposed to the desperate little sex kitten of former renditions. I think her courageous comedy on Ugly Betty is fabulous.
