Would Hillary Clinton top the list of women you most admire?

Well, according to a USA Today/Gallup poll, the New York senator and next secretary of state is No. 1 on the list of “Most Admired Women,” a spot she’s held for 13 of the past 16 years. Now, that’s some staying power. She won 20 percent of the vote.

Can you guess who came in second with 11 percent? None other than Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. You betcha! Also on the list are Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Condoleezza Rice, Ellen DeGeneres and others. You can see the entire list here.

For the men, a whopping 32 percent of Americans chose Barack Obama as the man they admire most in the world. USA Today says it’s the first time a president-elect has topped the annual survey in more than a half-century.

"Things are down so much at the end of 2008 and the end of Bush’s administration … and Obama represents a new beginning and some hope and anticipation that things can get better," James McPherson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning historian told USA Today.

In second place is President Bush, with only 5 percent of the vote. Pope Benedict XVI, Christian evangelist Billy Graham and Bill Clinton all tied with 2 percent of the vote. Now there are some interesting bedfellows …

I am honored to know and vote for both of these dedicated Democrats. I am most happy for my longtime friend Senator Hillary Clinton who has long stood for children and women’s rights. Congradulations on her accomplishements and I look forward to her as our Secretary of State. She will serve us in a most gracious way with knowledge. President Obama made history as has brought America to the world’s table again. Its a good feeling to have both as our honorees.

As they say in Germany, wohl begonnen ist halb gewonnen.Palin’s action was an affirmative step in the right direction. Of course libludds will do everything they can do to thwart construction, but then that’s what libludds do.

Thanks Walter! You know my family was divided by the wall in Germany. For those who want the government to do everything for them then they need to talk to those who lived in East Germany. There was a reason why the East Germans were happy when the wall came down. It’s called FREEDOM! Maybe Merril (especially her), Char, Deburque will figure that out one of these days! Gov. Palin will be back-she is the new Ronald Reagan. Thanks again Walter:)

What did you pay for gas before Bush ordered drilling bans lifted, and what did you pay last fill up? DT , beside the Enquirer and the HuffPo, what other papers have you read? My opinions are based on half a century of engineering practice in the fields of energy and pollution control, not on some politically correct Expert. I am reminded of a joke about a demand for documentary proof. Say please and I might repeat it.
