wOw's Views on the News: Poll Says Majority of Dems Want Clinton as Vice President

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Despite her overwhelming win last night in West Virginia (click here to read about it), 55 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents surveyed by Gallup (click here to see more details on the poll results) say it’s time for Sen. Clinton to join Obama’s ticket as candidate for vice president. Should Obama extend the invitation? What are your thoughts? What are your predictions?

i truly believe that clinton is losing it. her latest comments are beyond the pale. how can you possibly say theat you are going to get someones endorsement right after they just gave it to another? edwards even changed his telephone # and won’t give it to her. this is bizarre: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/hillary-vows-to-fight-on_b_1…

some things are funny, some things are sad and others are downright NASTY. this is the type of stuff that the repubs are going to be throwing at the dems on the fall. whether you are for hillary or barak this is totally unacceptable-and if you think that this is just an unfortunate choice of words… think again. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/14/gop-rep-uses-term-tar-bab_n_101…

Thank you for sharing this article. I agree with its premise. The point raised before, during and after West Virginia — is what Chris Matthews stated Tuesday night — “…they made up their minds 400 years ago…” We ALL know this is status quo — unless West Virginians need ALL Americans to help keep Appalachia financially afloat via color-blind TAX SUBSIDIES, or military protection of the Nation. Consequently, our fury is about a sitting United States Senator, Former First Lady and DEMOCRAT — validating and leveraging this status quo AGAINST another sitting United States Senator from IL, based upon his ethnicity…and openly making THE CASE OF HER SUPERIORITY AS A CANDIDATE based upon what the majority of Americans find a repulsive 400 year-old history and the continued ignorance of a narrow sliver of our populace. THIS is what Americans of every stripe want to move away from and, rather than help us do it — HRC and a former two-term DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT have fought tooth and nail to maintain this status quo. I think not. The world is a diverse place and we have no moral authority dictating to others standards of conduct/behavior IF we selectively regress to what Bill and Hilary Clinton are leveraging to WIN — that is America at her WORST. They are being held ACCOUNTABLE for their conduct — as Bill Clinton and George W. Bush stride around the world holding other “leaders” ACCOUNTABLE. That’s REAL life, outside their bubbles. We need to elevate Appalachia and help them join the 21st Century, get off Food Stamps and bring education and high tech industries to their neighborhood — so their children don’t LEAVE as soon as they get a driver’s license. WHY do Appalachians’ think they are LEAVING and not returning? Americans of every ethnicity have an obligation to help support, protect and honor ALL Americans. We have a right to expect ALL Americans to pull themselves forward into the 21st Century to take their rightful place — with RESPONSIBILITY to the greater good. Listening to Lee Atwater/Karl Rove/HRC race-bait ever generation — and voting against their own interests based upon racial propaganda — is NOT upholding their end of the bargain and, holding back our growth as a Nation to fulfill our maximum promise. We will ALL pay to help Appalachia make a solid economic transition. They will RESPECT ALL Americans as their part of the bargain.

IMHO, superdelegates and other former candidates like Edwards have been afraid of the power that it was perceived that the Clintons wield in the Democratic party. HRC just assumed everyone would rally around her and carry her on a litter to the nomination. She forgot about all of the “little people” - the actual voters. She figured the party would carry her to New Hampshire and Iowa, then straight on to the convention. After she and Bill got the shock of their lives in Iowa, she started calling on the party leaders - the superdelegates and Howard Dean - to annoint her. The she lost, state after state after state. I feel the huge swing in superdelegates, and Edwards endorsement, are because it has become obvious - even the huge Clinton Machine can’t override the will of the people. Don’t forget - many of the superdelegates are congresspersons that have to run in November too. …and Geraldine Ferraro can whine all she wants. She said she created the superdelegate system. Too bad it backfired on her.

Lorraine—-outstanding insights and post and right on. Unfortunately Hillary supporters just can’t see their candidate was outwitted by an infinitely better strategist. She voted with the establishment and for the war and he created an insurgency that bit her in the ass. Just like the bloated war machine is being defeated by ‘insurgents’ (read patriots if the situation were reversed and WE were invaded) launching homemade bombs off donkey carts. The Clintons are the old ways, Obama is the new. they can’t and don’t get it. all backfired….that’s exactly right.

“God gave Noah the rainbow sign, no more water, the fire next time!” This provocative sentence was both descriptive and prophetic. Addressing the issues of justice – civil rights and the potential for a human holocaust – in 1963, author James Baldwin asked that we hold a mirror to our behavior, in the tradition of the prophets of the Old Testament. Now, 40 years later, Baldwin’s words have become the single most challenging warning to any civilization in the history of the human family. The fire next time is upon us now, in the form of heat from the heavens. http://www.thewitness.org/agw/kreitler120204.html Spiritual Implications of Global Warming There is much real work to do, meaning all hands on deck - and NO to divisiveness or “leaders” who can only thrive on divisiveness.

renata… this is not an entirely christian concept, most religions/cultures have tales of the end times. but i agree with what you are saying… we are in deep doo doo. this election is huge in its importance. whether it is our country’s impact on the globe on which we live, or how we treat the least of those among us, our standing as a nation of the world and not against the world it all must change. that is why i am strongly for obama, have been since the beginning in springfield. these dumb down tactics of what color he is, what he said in kindergarten, what his pastor said, what he ate for breakfast is nuts. it is more than a distraction; it is dangerous. i think it is different this time tho, the people are more aware and because of the www news is disseminated instantly to all parts of the world. we have concerned citizens who post, connected bloggers who post, old footage[think bosnia] is immediately available to all in order to show the truth of the matter. it is a different world in which we live. we need different leadership, someone who wants to bring us together not drive us apart. a world where it does not matter what the color of your skin, where you go to church, and where you choose to live it does not matter. what does matter is wherewe go from here.
