wOw's Views on the News: Poll Says Majority of Dems Want Clinton as Vice President

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Despite her overwhelming win last night in West Virginia (click here to read about it), 55 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents surveyed by Gallup (click here to see more details on the poll results) say it’s time for Sen. Clinton to join Obama’s ticket as candidate for vice president. Should Obama extend the invitation? What are your thoughts? What are your predictions?

My Alias, these people are not Obama surrogates. Why would Obama pay them, to do exactly the opposite of what he is trying to do, right now? Both he and John Edwards praised Hillary yesterday. Hillary supported Obama today, after Bushs’ comments. What’s going on here, does not resemble Obama at all. I find it hard to believe that people who are supposed to be for him, would care so little, how they represented him. If they really are his supporters, they are an embarrassment to him. As an Obama supporter, I am offended by them.

Obama supporters are not a cult. HRC has an independent relationship with New Yorkers as their sitting Senator, accountable to the citizens of New York for her conduct and public representation(s) — that have absolutely nothing to do with Senator Obama, his Campaign for the Presidency or John Edwards. Nor are CITIZENS required to align ourselves to the opinions of Senator(s) Obama or Edwards in the matter of Senator Clinton — or anything else. We are NOT MONOLITHIC in our thinking, geographic regions, etc. Senator Obama has had to maintain a higher standard for the management of his Campaign because it is the proforma of the CHANGE he will try to effect in management of the Federal Government. That higher standard should not require his supporters maintain a lockstep and/or GUILT BY ASSOCIATION framework from/through which to operate. Supporting Senator Obama for the Presidency does not mean we have FUSED with or BECOME Senator Obama — nor visa versa. We still maintain the right to have independent thoughts, dreams, wishes and opinions — and the FREEDOM to express them independent of his Campaign. Could Bill and Hillary Clinton’s supporters — a variant cast of characters, including but not limited to those on their infamous PARDON LIST — and the Clintons themselves, undergo the same test/criteria? No. We don’t fuse HRC’s brothers with her. It would be wise not to expect more of Senator Obama and his supporters than is humanly possible — or apply standards to his supporters as if we are fused with him in some kind of Vulcan-mind-meld way. We are a very diverse group. That is a good thing.

Totally agree with you, Deni. Obama would be the first to decry these acrid posts. If I were undecided and I read all the lengthy, repetitive ramblings, I’d vote for Hillary Clinton in a heartbeat.

At this stage HRC would rather have your check than your vote. I am receiving random calls in NYC asking for money — in ANY amount.

Deni G 1:43 am To keep the name in play and keep reminding people of HRC’s deficiencies. I am surprised, because only one person can win the nomination for POTUS. They are trying to get message out to super delegates whose trackers watch these sites to see what the action is.

I blog a lot around the net for Obama. To date I have yet to receive a paycheck from him or his campaign surrogates.

It was and is demeaning to diminsh our dedication to a Presidential candidate’s success as PAID — w/out a shred of evidence and in such a broadbrush manner — because someone doesn’t like/agree with our posts. Diminishment of “the other” is begining to define POLITICAL and CULTURE on this site. That will not be a good thing as we move into the Summer/Fall Campaign season. That’s unfortunate, because this would have been a perfect way for the site to elevate itself in the American zeitgeist — independent of its Founders’ mighty influence — which it MUST in order to thrive and, as I have said before, not become a vanity play. Hopefully, others who care about WoW’s success and growth - will continue to openly challenge the trivial and unsubstantiated blanket statements that demean both the site community and those of us who take valuable TIME to contribute to the public discourse.

Patricia: That was a baseless and scurrilous statement. Point of fact, HRC has had to PAY (and rack up bills) for the very same and proffered “street money” around Philly and the Stateof Pa — when Barack Obama REFUSED to participate in THAT pay-for-votes scenario he also would like to CHANGE. Republicans are desperate. Their policies and fearmongering have run their course. Ranting…yes, I know ranting when I hear it courtesy of Fox/Limbaugh and that amazing Chris Matthew/James interview yesterday…is a Republican sideshow. President Bush and John McCain are now taking that sideshow ABROAD to speeches in front of foreign Parliaments. What infuriates Republicans is WE DON’T NEED TO BE PAID or force our candidate to rack up bills to make his case. Further, we are deeply committed, evidenced by thoughtful and thorough communications that have respect for the reader — and the Founders of this site. Republicans, Independents and Democrats — PATRIOTS ALL — care deeply about America and their children’s future. All Americans don’t need to be PAID to rescue our Nation from this downward spiral. We are at a turningpoint — and we ALL KNOW IT. The world is holding its breath because we are ALL connected/interconnected — and affecting/infecting the world with our PROBLEMS. I, for one, will do whatever I can because I have been blessed in this Nation. I would NOT accept payment to do my part. And, though I am a born/bred NYC resident — may no blade of grass in our rural States be touched by the thugs who attacked our Nation on 9/11 — and I be PAID to work as hard as I can to prevent such an event from occurring ever again…ever. We are also about to have a REAL DEBATE about what patriotism really is, this year. Patriotism is not solely defined by MONEY, WARS/MILITARY ACTIONS and the RELIGIOUS RIGHT. DIPLOMACY, MUTUAL RESPECT FOR CULTURES NOT OUR OWN and TAKING CARE OF YOUR OWN CITIZENS HEALTH AND ECONOMIC PROSPERITY is also PATRIOTISM.

Buh-bye you can bait me all you like. I am more mellow today than yesterday. It’s too hot to argue politics. Gonna go take a dip in the cement pond. Wishing I was drifting along in a canoe at one of those lazy lakes the other wowOwowers are always talking about.

WoW has its Republicans — and MSNBC/Huffingtonpost has theirs: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/15/hardball-shoutfest-matthe_n_102… ….and, just think, they also have George W. Bush, history buff…

Until Hillary morphed into “the Clintons,” I was supporting her. Obama doesn’t need two vice presidents. Ask Al Gore what it was like working with the Clintons.

Al Gore might well have been our President, and we wouldn’t be in Iraq or economic straits. Bill Clinton’s narcissism and predation seriously wounded his chances. And, on top of that, Clinton lied to Gore, who chose to distance himself from the former President and his superior economic record, because he was just plain disgusted with him. I don’t want Bill Clinton— no matter how bright and articulate he may be— bedding down anytime soon in the Vice President’s house. It is not his philandering that is at issue, but the way he trashed all those women claiming to have had affairs with him. His behavior was right out of the old sexual harassment manual at the office. Hillary is such a gifted, brilliant, funny person. The finger-wagging Bill, his carotid arteries popping, has been an albatross around Hillary’s neck throughout her campaign along with ad hoc hitman James Carville. How lovely and loving and respectful Barack and Michelle, equally gifted and intelligent, are as a couple, much like the Gores. The Obamas, with their adorable daughters, will be a refreshing sight. P.S. For more on the Clintons, read Bob Herbert’s column, “Seeds of Destruction,” in the May 11 issue of “The New York Times.”

Patricia: As a fan of Al Gore’s — and the Obamas — I couldn’t agree with you more. America has PAID too high a price for the 8 years’ the Clintons and their surrogates keep reminding us about. During and after their tenure at The White House, the scandals and HRC-led assault on women who were compromised by Bill Clinton, I was amazed there was no accountability asked for. Similarly, the Reagan/Bush dynasties have not really had an historical analysis of the pros and cons of their years in Office. A combination of highly-paid PR, signing laws that withhold Presidential Records (a hallmark of BOTH the Reagan/Bush and Clinton dynasties) and probably the major distraction of 9/11 and two failing wars to contend with — have made our historians LAZY, too worried about getting access for their new books that are more laudatory than not. Both dynasties openly court historians and fuse them with their Libraries and PR teams. The Millenials will get down to the bottom of this, one day.
