wOw's Views on the News: Poll Says Majority of Dems Want Clinton as Vice President

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Despite her overwhelming win last night in West Virginia (click here to read about it), 55 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents surveyed by Gallup (click here to see more details on the poll results) say it’s time for Sen. Clinton to join Obama’s ticket as candidate for vice president. Should Obama extend the invitation? What are your thoughts? What are your predictions?

Elizabeth 4:12 C’mon Elizabeth - can’t blame everything on the Republicans or Rove. No, if you read other sites, it is the same thing in many places. This is politics and in this 21st century this is the way it is played by everyone. Lyndon Johnson was one of the best politicians of that era, not a great president executing the Viet Nam war, but he knew how to win and used many of the same tactics.

Well, LBJ did not have the internet. And the point of the internet and much of the above discussion, is just this simple: http://www.unc.edu/depts/jomc/academics/dri/idog.html

Yes, I remember you mentioning it before Elizabeth, and you may be right. Have you read Grishom’s latest, The Appeal? Interesting read, especially if you swap out the plot with the machinations of this campaign.

Actually I just started reading the Appeal. I would have finished it by now if I had not gotten engrossed in all this! I just mean that whatever people’s motives may be in this conversation, when someone starts to demonize someone who may have a different opinion, it does not help in the march toward victory. In the Segretti/Rove dirty tricks department, fomenting hatred among your opponents was a classic move.

It’s a great read. A peek into the underbelly of the vast right wing conspiracy, which, of course, is always is about corporate futures. Politics are merely the vehicle to achieve ends. I doubt you’ll agree, but IMHO Obama is the Ron Fisk character.

My alias Well Put- I got tired of the tag teaming, as if they were smarter so we had to be educated. It is a funny but predictable tactic, and most people were on to it.

I must be a slow learner, because these women are doing nothing for me. Maybe it’s my political science degree. No, that can’t be it… They are a little funny, though.

Earlier posts under this name proffered data and statistics that were incorrect per the US Census in 2000. Based upon totally flawed data, OPINIONS are then posted that are baseless and cannot be substantiated. It is time for this to change. The airwaves are filled with LIES, O’Reilly meltdowns, Limbaugh on-air blowhards — and opinions that have no basis in REALITY, reminding one of HRC’s Bosnia LIES…that continue to grow and take on a life of their own, despite witnesses prevailing upon a Presidential candidate to PLEASE STOP. This is what makes HRC not a viable candidate for the Vice Presidency. You will notice the media isn’t even covering her now — and the VP discussion has dissapated. Dead in the water because of her own Rovian tactics and enrolling an army of women to follow her, irresponsibly. These are the real GOP/Rovian tactics and they will be challenged. If this changes he “spirit” of WoW, so be it. This is an open forum for IDEAS. REALITY, real data backing up statements and not making jokes/statements about Presidential candidates’ possible ‘ASSASINATION’ — is a plus I am sure the Founders (not to mention the PAID ADVERTISERS) will appreciate. An earlier post by this individual was FILLED with misinformation/disinformation regarding population statistics. YES…WoW has changed. Like Chris Matthews asking Mr. James what he meant about APPEASEMENT in 1938-39 yesterday — if you don’t know what you are talking about and cannot substantiate it — you will be challenged. Now, call names, mock and put forth all the other conduct HRC has offered in lieu of what she is FOR and a willingness to back it up with FACTS…not phoney, delusional stories and fearmongering, race-baiting fearful Americans.

Star, lissen, as long as they’re here shouting at each other…. It’s like my dad used to say about tent revivals. He was happy because at least for that time he knew where they were. And they were off the streets. Best just to leave the room and let them screech at each other…

Renata, I agree with you. I was up writing last night and had expected to turn in by midnight or one a.m. But I was kept awake by my disdain for Clintons and the Bushes. So, before I become apoplectic, I’m turning in. Will dream about Obama at his Inaugural. P.S. President Lincoln, I believe, only served one term in the Illinois Senate prior to his Presidency.

One last thought: Did you hear that Bush has given up golf? He says it would be disrespectful for him to play while our troops are fighting in Iraq. Better Bush, the dry drunk, golf and dirt-bike for his remaining months in office than do any more damage to the country.
