wOw's Views on the News: Poll Says Majority of Dems Want Clinton as Vice President

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Despite her overwhelming win last night in West Virginia (click here to read about it), 55 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents surveyed by Gallup (click here to see more details on the poll results) say it’s time for Sen. Clinton to join Obama’s ticket as candidate for vice president. Should Obama extend the invitation? What are your thoughts? What are your predictions?

Your cutting and pasting needs work. Did you read the last sentence of your post?

Again, I just quit reading, because I am interested in what people think about things, not what they glance over, clip and dump onto the site.

And I’m setting a speed record scrolling past all the interminable cutting and pasting.

Oh my goodness! Did the last 30 some odd pages just happen? I came here for interesting reads and input with clever women. Why on earth are there over 500 posts to this one topic. I assume we all hold our own views and beliefs quite dear. We all are smart enough to draw our own conclusions on the issues and no amount of hammering in here will change any of that. I don’t have the time to waste…maybe if we ignore it, it will go away.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how the internet is really so fascinating because many many people are learning lessons no teacher can provide. Don’t lend money to strangers from foreign countries because they’ve told you you won a lottery you did not enter, for example. Don’t provide strangers with access to your personal life or accounts, etc. But the whole thing is more subtle than that. Critical thinking has never been a more self-correcting process than researching on the internet. “First question, who are these people and what are they trying to sell me?” Is there anyone within a thousand miles of this website who didn’t really really really get it this week that more is not necessarily better? That shouting at people does not convince them, and does not change their minds. Calling people names not only isn’t “nice,” and doesn’t make you friends, it makes them angry and less willing to listen to your arguments. Haven’t we all learned that yard after yard of pasted weblinks does abolutely nothing for us, because we know that pasted weblinks are not facts? And claiming that we have friends in high places to excuse our excesses didn’t work so very well, either. It could well be that the best thing that has come out of this morass of quicksand is the way that nearly everyone involved has given, willingly or unwillingly, deep and serious thought to our standards for discussion. If so, that in and of itself makes this much less a waste of time. Don’t give up on us, Ms. Manners! Another round like this, and we’ll be right there with you.

Interesting outcome with legal consequences from the internet bullying Mom case just last week - regulation of abusive language on the internet is on the horizon. This wild west new territory will not remain so rip roaring untamed forever. People do get arrested for swearing in public (true case), there is slander etc. No identity is truly “anoymous” on the PC -free speech is free as long as it does not harm others. Terrorizing with words - “words matter”. Schools teach and restrict bullying, name calling, verbal abuse. Psychiatrists. psychologists deal with patients who have been the victim of verbal abuse. Words and tone do matter.

I used to like to read the intelligent posts and political arguments. When it got a little hot under the collar, I usually tried to be the voice of reason when I posted, but I have practically stopped posting on the political type posts. I use my cursor button a lot to pass comments which are degrading, long and not in the best interests of myself and I imagine a lot of others who read this site. The arguments I used to love to read have become hate statements which are usually associated with someone who is demented. Talk about diatribe statements which supposedly some candidates made. I see horrible bitter statements. I see accusations. I see “I told you so” statements. I see statements which say persons have no right to post. I am who I am. I don’t even go to other sites and blog or cuss or discuss because it doesn’t matter. The democratic candidate will be the one chosen at the convention or even before, depending upon the course of the superdelegates votes. When January 20 comes, someone will wake up the next morning in the white house with a new title of President. Lots of people will not like the outcome. But that is what a democracy is. People elect our leader. If it’s not the one you wanted and you can’t stand it any longer, then leave the country. Many decades ago, people were shot for treason when they didn’t agree. That won’t happen in our society today, because we have rights. I imagine the contributors to the operation of this site, love the controversial issues and the fighting and bitterness and other hurtful statements. It sells their products. I remember the one of the first topics which became a hidden topic because the item became so controversial. Then we started seeing more and more political topics because the site went dead when that topic was hidden (it was still on here but nearly impossible to find). Dead site/no visitors mean no money supporters and site dries up and withers away. I guess until the convention, I don’t suppose we could play nice with the comments and arguments, so I guess I will just read the other topics, or do a lot of passing by of comments. I’m going to stick with my original identity. If you don’t like me or something I have said, that is your choice. I am who I am. Born in the sticks, as a Republican, who now is a lost soul looking for the best candidate. My choice may not be yours. You worry about your choice and I will worry about mine. It may be the wrong choice, but I will survive. And so will you.

Bean……I read your post in it’s entirety — guess I’m getting used to all these long posts. Thank you for submitting another view. I think that most of us have been badly mistreated for the last few days (as you’ve probably noticed.) The attacks on Bugsy (especially Bugsy) have been especially vicious. The two ladies (ladies?) have been at it and at us. In retrospect, and being neutral on all of this, I think it was rather interesting to see another opinion. Now, I hope I don’t get jumped again. Hopefully they have gone to another site.

To cat lord & Co. How embarrassing! I just can’t believe no one thought to tell you and beanie that Renata already has a job. She’s a CEO….oh, sorry, that means: Chief Executive Officer. So, what is it YOU do for a living besides posting pitiful pointless hateful ignorant commentary? May I suggest a more effective way to amuse yourselves: 1) go find a mirror 2) NOW you may LOL
