I am apt to go make myself a cup of tea and get in a hot bath and calm down. "This too shall pass" is not a bad motto, though it doesn’t help a lot when things seem dire. I always need to stop and think and not behave impulsively, which is my wont.

I go outside for fresh air even if for just a few minutes. If I’m at home I water my plants or lawn. This usually clears my head or mood enough to deal with what I left inside. I’ve used this practice while working for as long as I can remember.
