Getting Gown Part II: Michelle Obama Wearing Isabel Toledo Today

The exquisite soft maize coat and dress Michelle Obama will wear today to the swearing in of husband Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States on Capitol Hill, comes from designer Isabel Toledo. A veteran of the fashion world, last year was tough for Toledo when label Anne Klein, for whom she had been designing in a relaunch of the brand, let her go for financial reasons. But Barneys officials, who sell Toledo’s own label collection, will now have to prepare extra space to accommodate the increasingly popular designer. Thanks, Mrs. O!
Also noted, Mrs. Obama wore two outfits by Narciso Rodriguez on Saturday: the camel-colored coat and dress worn to the "We Are One" concert, and the purple coat and dress she wore earlier that day for the ceremony at Arlington National Ceremony.
